  • nice

  • After 2 years now I can really get this.

    Good!

  • Stephan, you seem pretty pro..I personally think you should have your own academy.

  • is it better to hook the nearest leg with your foot or the outiside leg?? it looks at though it might be harder for him to push your foot of with his free hand ( for the outside leg)

  • Good video, excellent points of view on how an omoplata attack should work at different situations.

  • StephanKesting is the man

  • stephan**

  • stephen, you've got a lot of knowledge, looking at your videos. what's your history in bjj/jiu-jitsu etc? great vids btw :)

  • Nice video

One question: What about leading with the foot but hugging your shin, would that work?

  • at 4:47, the guy at the back did a backward roll to get his towel

  • Thank you Sir for all your outstanding techniques. You teaching methods are very precise and easy to learn.

  • Carni all day ;)

  • Awesome Tips Stephan. Thanks!!

  • Great vid. Trying this at training tomorrow.

  • hey man, ur video is great ;)

  • Stephan, where is your academy?

  • @wrxbungle I don't actually have an academy. I teach once in a while at friend's schools, as well as teaching online and via my DVDs. That allows me to concentrate on my own training. Not the traditional 'solution' I know, but it works for me...

  • I love it Stephan. The knee's a nice touch, and I haven't seen the ankle get hooked quite like that before. Very neat.

  • I wish Stephan was my dad. He's the man. Love the improving videos. Longer and better. Brillant.

  • is this a class you run or a seminar? where did it take place? do you instruct?

  • @tp0721 This was from a three day seminar I taught last year. I fillmed the whole thing and put it out onto DVD as the Advanced Techniques and Tactics series

  • Great ideas.

I like how tight you're talking about being to your opponent.

When you're initially hugging him with your leg (instead of throwing it over) and hugging your shin, it looks like you want to trap his arm above his elbow, looks like that would trap it good.

  • i think maybe this move is like the beginning of the rubber guard, possibly for people who might not be flexible to reach their own ankle

  • @ConicalRamirez It's not so much the specific entry as it is the concept of

leading with the knee rather than the foot. You can apply this concept to ANY omo plata entry

  • @StephanKesting couldn't you simply wrap one of your arms along his lower back/waist area to keep him from rolling out?

  • Very good tutorial Stephan, my omoplata just got a lot better thanks to this.

  • Excellent explanation!!! awesome vid.

  • cool move btw @ 6.43, never seen that before personally.

  • @waldomarek yeah im wondering what that move is called? i didnt quite catch what he said...

  • haha, why is the wrist lock cheesy? i'd say do whatever works, as long as you're not grabbing balls or poking eyes :P

  • Great Explanation Stephan, As Always.
