@tritonmole If you wanna render in real time you can either use QUADRO/FIREGL or NVIDIA/ATI it doesnt matter, and yes its way faster to render with GPU than the CPU but the GPU can only render in real time you cant render the final render with a GPU only CPU for now...
Why does a 600 has higher numbers than the 1800? AND is cheaper. I'm no expert here, I was just looking at the numbers at nvidia's page. I have a QuadroFX 580 and for a few dollars I could get double the memory, so, why is 1800 more expensive? I did notice the Quadro600 does not have the FX on it.
@JiggaKidd I can't really see any reason why it shouldn't. It's still a very good mid range card. Update those drivers and you should be good to go with solid performance on both apps.
@PrickIttwice they are made for video editing and what you see in this video they dont perform very well in games. you can get a better gaming video card for less
@L3G3nD0001 True that. Crysis killed my Quadro FX 4600. That was a sad day in my life when those dotted lines went across the screen as my resolution dropped. That will never happen to me again. I won't play games on my Quadro FX 1800.
@ex3lerome haw many poli's does it handle?

i don's see the difference. the fx 1800 is to slow? but it costs much more....?
BobbyZgangialf 4 months ago
@BobbyZgangialf The thing is that Nvidia "says" QUADRO cards manage graphics in a different way than GEFORCE here are some specs
Some of the features that Quadro FX card have are:
- Unlimited vertex instruction
- 3D volumetric texture support
- 12 pixels per clock rendering engine
- Hardware accelerated antialiased points and lines
- Hardware OpenGL overlay planes
- Hardware accelerated two-sided lighting
- 3rd generation occlusion culling
But I've used both and im sticking with Geforce :)

thanks, you cleared my head :D

I have uadro 580FX, low end but very acceptable to handle 5-6M polygons @ 5-10 fps that shows on viewport statistics..... :p
I prefer this GPU than my Geforce one to handle heavy 3d models....
I just tried in Google Sketchup 7 too..it works better handling image than my 9600GT both with shadows....
Then, why don't choose Quadro one for 3D dcc.... ^^v

show me this handling 6 million polys, then ill buy it

@automats1 I have this card. 6 mill polys is nothing :P

Can someone explain me this?
QuadroFX 1800: Memory size:768MB Stereo:32x OpenGL:4 FSSA:3 Shader model:10 CUDA: none
Quadro 600: Memory size:1GB Stereo:64x OpenGL:5 FSSA:4 Shader model:11 CUDA: yes

HOW QUICK IS THE RENDERING DOES IT TAKE LONG TO RENDER PROJECTS
FULLPLUS 1 year ago
@FULLPLUS rendering is not affected by your graphics card unless you are having some of the rendering run through cuda.

I got the Quadro the older FX1700 for Revit 2011 and 3D Max 2011. Does anyone know if both programs perform well with this older quadro?
