lol. looks like if your winning or the game is really simple you like it. when reviewing a game you should probably actually know how to play it first. lol. i know its an old video but i know some of the good games for the system. do you still have that system btw? been looking for it... also not "trolling" or anything like that it's just the games would be more fun if you know what your doing.
@Sosumaru yeah i hadnt played any of these games before, it was the first time playing all of them so i had no clue, in hindsight it probably would have been better to play them a lot more first, but i was a slacker =P
@SpaceCowboyKenny understandable. i know that sonic racing was a fun game when you really got to play them and go against the hidden characters and get them emeralds to unlock Super Sonic. Oh and you were right about the songs on there. loved those. lol.
@Sosumaru Yeahh the music in Sonic R is a sort of guilty pleasure i guess you could say, its so darn cheesy that its awesome. Maybe il make more reviews soon.
@SpaceCowboyKenny if it's on a game for Sega Saturn then you should play Duke Nukem 3D. loved that game. really fun but very graphic. first M rated game i played.
lol... u dont know a thing about vf2.. i had it in 96 played it untill my sega broke in 2005.. it never gets old.. but u need someone to play against who is equally challanging. not fun killing newbies, and its even harder and pointless teaching newbies to fight me with 10 years experience lol.. sega rally is more fun than the realistic games like nfs
well i was simply playing and reviewing it, i wasnt playing to to show "MY UBER PWNAGE skillz" but the arcade version was better i think i also agree with you on sega rally. but thanks for your comment.
SONIC R was a game that was meant to show that the saturn could do water transparency effects.. it's dull as fuck and the saturn can't do transparencies like the PSX could
I remember virtua fighter 2 back in the day when it was ported to the saturn.. in the arcades it was awesome so I had high expectations of the saturn version but was totally aware the saturn being based on ST-V arcade board hardware, it wouldn't be able to replicate model 2 VF2 perfectly. The textures are lower res, the backgrounds are 2D and the flooring is also 2D making for some weird perspective issues when the camera scrolls, zooms and pans and gets the flooring in view...
some animations had to be cut too I think, but this is one of the best looking saturn games out there.. it looked amazing on the preview video tape I had for it. This and sega rally were the big games I was looking forward to. I was disappointed with VF2 despite how much of a graphic achievement it was for the saturn. Shun's bridge was gone, and polygon breakup in the intro was unforgivable and ruined it, and the missing 3D backgrounds ruined it for me.
shining wisdom is a bit creepy in that intro isnt it.. I don't remember it ever scaring me.. I guess I was in a different frame of mind back then.. it was criticised for being too old school for a next gen system.
Back to sonic R, it was one of the most hyped games in the saturn official mag, its meant to be graphically stunning, and the framerate was always praised.. I never liked mario kart so it wasn't my thing.. but when I got SonicR.. it fucking sucked! picked it up for 5 mins and never touched it again.. I was desperate for a game, it was my last choice anyway.
i was disappointed in the saturn, I bought it before the PSX and the PSX was just shitting all over it.. I was in denial at the time
