  • What a difference in a slower pace and with boys compared to the much cooler Tallis Scholars. My guess is this is a lot closer to the way Palestrina performed the piece.

  • WONDERFUL! Thank you!

  • Magnifique! - Authentique! - Professionnel! - Que j'adore cela! - Merci beaucoup!

  • @tritonusgesang Gravé à la mémoire

  • Which mass is this from?

  • @screen317 Missa brevis

  • @screen317 ... It's Anglican...

  • @MrUndercoverblues Oh I forget, pardon me. Palestrina is Italian, not English gentleman.

  • @MrUndercoverblues Pardon me Palestrina is not Anglican.

  • @treblechoir99 ; ok, apples and oranges. I was referring to the 'performance'- The Choir. Choir of New College is Anglican. Misunderstood what you were referring to.

  • @MrUndercoverblues Ohh ok, you,re right for the Choir. Because the question has ''which mass is this from?''.

  • @treblechoir99 yes, perhaps I was not paying good enough attention; all I saw was "Choir New College" and knew that was Anglican. my mistake. sorry to have obviously offended you. I can only judge by your replies I must have....

  • @MrUndercoverblues Don't worrie my friend It's ok. No offense.

  • @screen317 Look in my description: ''Missa brevis'', from Palestrina.

  • @treblechoir99 Thanks. Is there sheet music to this anywhere? I'd love to perform this.

  • @screen317 From Palestrina, yes big chance.

  • If I ever get to heaven, this is what it will be like.....and I'll see my beautiful son there....thank you for this.

  • The soul and spirit are set free by this glorious music and uplifting images!

Gracious lyricism and superb singing..rich and warm! Thank you for posting

    and to minuicch for sharing

  • @Kievest Thank you and I wish you a Merry Christmas

  • Cool video

  • un pezzo sempre attuale e molto bello,

    Grazie!

  • เข้าใจแล้วว่ารุ่งอรุณแห่งวันที่พระพุทธเจ้าตรัสรู้นั้น งดงามเพียงใด (^_^)

  • Magnifique!!

  • Please visit THE OFFICIAL NEW COLLEGE CHOIR page.

  • its so beuiiful

  • This music seems so pure. Beautiful. And a beautiful performance too.

  • "Music is an agreeable harmony for the honor of God and the permissible delights of the soul." -- J.S. Bach

  • Only permissible because of this songs success back in the days of the Italian Renaissance, if it hadn't come up to the mark we'd now be hearing single chants in its place and the Cathedral coffers would almost certainly be bare.

  • Beautiful balance and nice singing.

  • Such subline beauty; Angelic.

    God Bless All Involved

  • beautiful playlist. thanks.

  • You're very welcome.

  • 6.24 was the cover of the book that inspired Mel Gibson to make the Passion of Christ. A GOOD (AND GORY) MOVIE AS WELL. forgot i was on capslock

  • Magnifique Agnus Dei!

  • Absolutely amazing!!

  • The boychoir sound, indescribable and fundamental. It grabs your soul and never lets go. It transforms he who listens and those who sing.

  • Absolutely magnificent...lovely pictures! It lifts me up to hear such things :)

  • Staggering, yes Tony. I love this period, Renaissance.

  • Sublime et Envoûtant.

  • This choir from Oxford is definitely equal to his "big" brothers in Cambridge. Very, very beautiful!

  • Yes absolutly. Difference for New College, her speciality It's really this period, Renaissance, a large repertoire with this period.

  • Indeed. I recently bought a 5 disc cd-box with renaissance polyphony (British composters/Palestrina/De Monte/Du Caurroy/Lassus), all recorded by New College Choir. The strong, rich treble tone is a pleasure to hear. I dare to say that I rather hear New College Choir sing Palestrina than Westminster Cathedral Choir...

  • Wow Yes you have a very, very good item with this all CD, I have too this albums. Your comparison to Westminster is conform for this period, agree with this link. You know, in UK, Westminster and New College, my favourites. Maybe It's because I appreciat and I love this period come from the Renaissance. I appreciat your comments.

  • I also think St. John's Cambridge are very good - they have the same pure and consistent tone that New College and WCCS share. But this is stunning, thank you.

  • Absolutly. You know, I think for all this harmony with this style voices It's very representative for the Boys Choir come from UK.
