  • I used the twisting method from this video and retwisted my head in 2 hours! It took me 3.5 hours last time (tiny locs) Thanks so much!

  • Great and very informative video. Adorable children too. Thanks!

  • your kids are beautiful, and i can't believe how good khalil was. most kids that age WILL NOT sit still, let alone have their hair styled like that.

  • Man..I ain't heard that song in sooo loonnngg..brought back memories of me and the homies back in school..playing football..growing old together. Appreciate the video.

  • The kids are cute! Love the song.

  • Love the song choice. Wish it was actual video though.

  • I wanna start locking my daughters hair but she is only 2 years old!! Is that too young to start locking her hair and if so when is the best age to began locking her hair!!

  • how many locks does the little man got

  • Respect!

  • beautiful hair...and your son did not cry while you was washing his hair..wow..my 4 year old act as if im killing him when i co-wash his hair

  • this is an interesting method. in particular sectioning it off into like 5 or 6 groups. it sure as hell beats all those clips. the clips had me retwisting for hrs. definately gotta try this out one day. thanks for posting

  • mad respect to this man he a mother and father just like my ol man is to me and my lil good to know someone else out their got the heart lk my pops you doing a good job with his hair bruh bruh

  • Omg your son is the most adorable thing ever and his little locs are too cute! I really enjoyed watching this video because there is never videos with children with locs. And so often when I see kids with locs they are poorly maintained so I always thought it was a bad idea but your son's locs look wonderful! Oh & I just wanted to add w/ my experience especially w/ children scratching the scalp tends to irritate it so if you use just your fingertips without the nails it's easier on their scalps

  • i have my hair twisted if i dont twisted it will the still lock up

  • sorry if you've already answered this question......what's the purpose of the bacon soda, vinegar, etc. ? does it have anything to do with hard water? oh and we have the same kitchen (minus sink placement)......wierd!

  • Great loc video

  • I started my son's locs about 2 months ago and after the retwist it stays neat for only about 5 days. He doesn't like to keep the cap on his head @ night... Any suggestions?? (He's 3 1/2) Thnxxxx

  • @layzfoxymama08 5days is PLENTY good enough. Sounds like he will look decent Monday-Friday while at daycare or headstart, and then Saturday can be a free-day, and wash/re-twist on Sundays. My sons dreads STILL only look "nice" for about 2days, especially now that he is in pre-k, but I am interlocking, so it doesnt matter much now. Good luck on your sons journey!

  • @layzfoxymama08 Yes, that's pretty good. I began my locs about four months ago (through a loctitian), with short hair (tiny 'fro), they last about 4 days, before looking rugged.

  • your son is the cutest little thing.

  • @shyshybaby08 Thank you! **new video coming soon!!!

  • i wish i was close to yall cuz i been tryna grow some forever

  • @jordardene0 Don't be scared of your hair! It's all about trial and error and finding what works for YOU. The only things that are the same in everyone's loc journey are these 2 things: patience and MORE PATIENCE! Everything else is unique.

  • i wish i had locs when i was his age

  • @Joakimbrian1 Pshht, it's never too late to start!

  • lol iwish one of parents or my sister knew how 2do twists...ive had my TWISTS in 4 about 4months(this saturday will make it 4)..ijus started re-twistin my own hair n lyk ur method of the rubberband thing better than using clips, but wen i retwist my hair it inly stays tight 4 a couple of seconds without sumthng on it..so how do i get tha ruberrban on all of em in tym??

  • @lilalo79 I was twisting with 1 hand and holding with the other until I have enough that I want to rubberband them.

I just hope his hair is loc-able (so to speak) being half white-half black.

Also, i commend the care and love you give to your son's hair. If your faithful in the little things like that im sure your an AWESOME dad.

    God bless bro.

  • @sburk49 EVERY type of hair is loc-able... Just depends on your patience and dedication. I am actually half white/half black myself.

  • hey how do u use the apple cider vinegar? do u use it strayt or do u dilute it? this would be a big help for me

  • I'm mad his hair looks better than mine! lol

  • Dont do these weekly. Wait a month! I was doing mine weekly and my dreads started getting thin. Not a very good Idea, but I can see if you like to keep his hair fresh.

    Good Job tho!

  • Life is something....I'm on here looking up techniques to twist my youngest and found ur vid of your son named Khalil...my oldest's name is Khalil. :-)

Thanks for the vid...ur Khalil is a cuteeeee tooo. :-)

  • u know.....back in the day....vinegar was used in the hair as a type of peroxide...excellent for lightning the hair safely. The more u use it, the hair would naturally bleach when one was exposed daily in the sun.

  • his dreads are gonna get better, when i have a kid im not gonna cut his hair, and let him get dreads. And what age did he actually his hair twisted?

  • love love love this vid! reminds me of my dad!!! i hope yawl keep wit this and have fun!!! peace and luv --nes

  • such a prince. good job momma!

  • Respect to Daddy!!

  • The strength of a black family! I was soooo touched by this video brotha, you just don't know. Especially coming from a single black mother's perspective; I only wish my kids had 1/2 the love and attention you show to your boys from their father. PLEASE keep doing you. In doing so, you're showing the world that strong, happy, and LOVING black families do exist. I hope wifey does come around w/the locs thing. Black people period look regal w/locs. One love!

  • @MyRootsRoc TRUE THAT!

  • I figured you were in the military. Where overseas are you. I noticed the dual voltage plugs in one of the pics. The locs look really good. Keepit up.

  • Youj are doing a fantastic job, I really think the men and doing lock thing is wats up. Kep doin wat you doin , cause you really are doin it well.

  • Appreciate the positive feedback!

  • This was awesome to see a father/son routine. Your son's locs look great. :)

  • Thank you!

  • o and how often should i do the acv soak? can i do it every wash?

  • I do the ACV soak every time I wash his hair, but I am also very anal about keeping his hair clean also. I am sure you don't HAVE to do it after every wash, unless you use lots of heavy or greasy products. I mostly do it to keep his scalp fresh.

  • *****Also, I dont really do any measuring with it...... I just pour. Probably use about 1cup to 8cups of water (I just fill a mixing bowl, lay him on the counter and let them soak.)

  • LOVE THA VID N MUSIC THAS MY SONG TO I AINT HEARD THAT IN A MIN. UR SON IS CUTE HECK.! will the acv soak before i wash help remove the buildup in my locs? i use gels right now but thinking of switchin to sheabutter. would it be ok if i mixed oil(s) in my twistnlock gel? my oils are sunflower oil, grapeseed oil, and olive oil. had to favorite this vid! :D i love to see a daddy takin care of his sons locs. dont ask me why lol.

  • I am NOT a loctician but I have done LOTS of trial and error, and LOTS MORE research. The ACV does help LOTS in removing build-up, and I also found that it helps get rid of fungus/flakes (dandruff) on your scalp. And, about the oils in the gel. It seems as though they would be counter-productive to each other. I just recently started using oils on his scalp, because it will slow down your process by making the hair slippery and it will be harder for them to loc-up. Just my experience

  • thank you for posting this..it is so heartwarming to see daddy taking care of the kiddies..thank you again and yes, i've subscribed to check on the updates :)

  • I try..... :D

  • This was so great to watch. I have to do this every month to three heads. Both of my sons and husband are loced. I must post pictures or even videos. Please keep it coming.

  • I love it. I was growing some 'locs, and then joined the Army.... My wife says I'm living my 'hair dream' through my son.... But there is just something about a set of locs on our people that it so beautiful, ESPECIALLY our beautiful sisters. (Wifey isn't buying into it, and she said NO for our 2 girls too.....)
