Hey man I bought the Lacie 1Tb external hard drive, and one thing that I noticed though when I plugged in my Windows XP that it only contained 32gb which was an outrage! Because i thought it lost all of that gbs worth and I couldnt return it anymore. Is there any way in which I could fix this problem? Please reply. Thanks!
I know it was a long time sense you asked this q but i might aswell answere it for future people.
1) NO. the light does not turn of when you turn your computer off, but sense you have a powerswich on the back side of the HDD you can easly turn it of anyway.

Don't buy this. Looks pretty. Fails early. (no not the power supply, USB, E-SATA or FW cable). Poor design

Just a couple of questions about this drive:
1) When the PC is powered off (but still plugged in) does the blue LED still show?
2) Does the drive spin-down?
3) Can the blue light be turned off?
thanks
