  • Needs a new battery that should fix it

  • OMG this makes me scared!

  • Yea my phone had this error and even though it was jailbroken it was so screwed it couldn't even get pass the connect the iTunes screen, so Apple just replaced it. It turned out that my battery was leaking so im guessing this error is most likely hardware related. So i guess it would be recommended to bring the phone to apple if you still have the warranty.

  • Dont do anything - take it to your local Apple sore who will give you a new handset. My 2 month old phone came up with the code and they exchanged it straight away

  • Most likely a dock or battery issue, not motherboard. Try re-installing the battery or change dock-connector.

  • did you ever get your ipod fixed? i have the same exact problem and i dont know what to do. if you have any idea on how to fix this please let me know

  • @kaylovespink123

hi, did u get ur ipod fixed from that white screen error???

i m having the same shit dude

  • @ laterzmcghee if this doesn't work u have to plug the usb in to a new port but also unplug the iPhone than restart the computer and as soon as it turns on plug in and do the dfu mode thing

  • error 1611 is a battery error, I had the same problem with mine so I have just replaced the battery and it is working perfectly now

  • it's too easy, i had this problem, just quit itunes, change the USB socket the phone/ipod is plugged into open itunes. restore.

  • yo i also have a fucked ipod, tried the same stuff as you, but nothing worked

  • This error is because you deleted usb driver from your PC. I just fixed mine. You need to either use another PC, or.. go to uninstall programs, uninstall itunes, and anything that has the same date installed by apple, get the latest itunes, and reinstall. itunes will detect your ipod, and you can restore.

  • 1. take phone out of cord. 2. hold home and power for ten seconds... not that hard guys

  • your a dumbass that dosent fix everything you tool

  • Everyone having this issue please follow my advice before doing anything drastic. I am in no way an apple device expert, but i spent 4 hours wrestling with a 1601 error code on my windows7 pc before plugging into my parents Mac and the restore to original firmware worked. TRY A DIFFERENT PC... if that dosent work, TRY A MAC. Dont send it in yet, dont give up.

  • this is an easy one just put the phone in dfu mode and make sure you have itunes 7.5 only and restore with firmware 1.1.4 and it should fail with error 1015 and take you to recovery mode and from the restore again and should fail with the same error and from there use ziphone or i-liberty to downgrade the bootloader to 3.9 and then use it to flash the baseband to 4.04.5_g and you should be fine

  • hey can u send me itunes 7.5 64bit

  • i dont know about that one but I do know that itunes 7.5 i had wouldnt sinc right with the iphone but it would work in recovery and dfu mode.

  • I have the same error when i try to restore it says error 1611 i tryed evething eaven in DFU mode on diferent pc Hard reset EVERYTHING PLS HELP :(((

  • put it in dfu mode then hold the home button for 15 sec and then the power botton for 2 sec hope it helped

  • What the fuck Alex?

  • explains why u try to act gangster

  • hey guys! I haven't been watching this space for months, and here I am back!

OK, first thing first. One thing that I learnt from this error, is that, IT IS A HARDWARE PROBLEM.

So screw all your tricks because it won't work.

Go help your self find a new motherboard for iPhone, and change the mafucka.

In Malaysia, it'd only cost around USD85.

    Hope that helps guys!

  • @rezuan7 I totally agree man, I figured that out by testing different FWS and what I found out is that the iTouch doesnt support certain resolutions, so if icons r bigger or smaller the screen will just stay blank.

  • @rezuan7 Not its not... Stop trying to look like a know it all. 1611 is when itunes is trying to restore but iphone just returns to recovery mode.

  • plug it in while holding the home button for a bit and if that doesnt work, try a different usb port AND cable

  • Holy shit dude i thought i was the only one with this problem! ya i have had this problem fo the past probably month and a half, i got it to work once... sorta, i started up an up and it crashed, now im back to square 1, if i figure somethin out ill tell u

  • All you need to do its a hard reset

press and hold both power and home button at the same time for 10 seconds then release the home button count 2 seconds and release power button to...

    yore iphone should restart perfectly...

  • your faked

  • try holding home and power buttons for 10 secs release and press power button

  • my phone flickered like that when it was locked and screen was dark and i tryed to push the homebutton and it flickered once or twice like that then turned on

  • One way to fix it (worked for me): Use at your own risk.

Get a CLEAN Firmware, plug in your iPod Touch, hold Space, restore it with the clean firmware and keep holding. It should work. (I did it on the 3.0 software however, you MAY NOT have Wi-fi at this point. This is a risky procedure)

  • i get the same error man..im trying everything if u find something out please help

  • did you find anything out? please help me

  • i found a solution! i had the same problem...i did a couple of things idk which one worked...

1- i got a new cable cuz the one i had was old and cracked from some places.

2- go to msconfig (start then run then type "msconfig" and make sure all the Apple services and Startup things have a check on it.

(I had disable them to make my pc start up faster...)

then jst try restoring it again and it should work!

i had Error code 1611 by the way...

  • have you found a solution yet? I'm having the same problem right now, it won't restore through itunes and when its "preparing to restore" the iphones screen turns white and itunes gives me 1601 error code

  • @ahmado78

  • go fuck your self amigos

  • so kumor44? What's up? Have you solve your problem? Let me know

  • Look this - I too have 1601 error code :)

  • Hey CandyKnas, tried that but it didn't work. You were talking about getting to DFU mode right?

  • hm strange try a video named "how to restore iphone with errors (1210,1601&1603)

    maybe it will work

  • try this

reboot your iphone and keep holding the sleep/wake and home button at the same time, then when it starts release the sleep/wake button but keep holding the home button until it goes into recovery mode then restore your iphone using itunes

  • cybergift56, do you happened to know the name of the software ??

  • ther is some soft that well flash your iphone look for them

  • Some please help me out!! I have ran out of ideas. I'm gonna try to hook it up with Xcode and will let you know the results. I will be updating the status within a couple of days from the date posted.

    Meanwhile, someone help me!
