you can always use baby shampoo to do a deep cleansing. your way is for spot cleaning.

i don't use travel size (short) brushes, instead, i get a good brush bag to carry them while traveling.

i used to do the same way too - spraying the brush cleanser directly on the brush's bristles

but i find this new way better, i spray the brush cleanser on the tissue, then wipe the brush onto it

because i think the bigger brushes takes more sprays than the smaller brushes, so usually for the bigger brushes i dont spray the brush cleanser directly onto them
