What kind of question is that? Will they make it in America X- Japan is epic and never put Yoshiki and Bono in the category, Yoshiki is great. Bono could not even stand in yoshiki greatness!!!
X YOU ARE COOL, I AM SO WANT TO BE LIKE U HV SO MANY GIRLS FANS, BUT I DON'T HV A ONE , I AM THE MOST CRAP ONE IN THE YOUTUBE, U KN ,IT IS TRUE, U CAN CHECK OUT MY THINGS.U ABSOLUTE WILL AGREE, I INSPIRE BY ALL ROCK N' ROLL GUYS BUT ALL CAME OUT FROM MY MIND WERE CRAPS, U KN , ANYONE WOULD LIKE HV A LOOK FOR A PITY GUY ME IN HERE . AND SAY SOME WORDS FOR ME.....>0<..
As everyone else is saying, X has been around as long as many of the American glam and metal scenes. So much history. This wouldn't be the first time jrock or visual Kei bands would try in the US either. VAMPS tried an invasion by jumping on warped tour not too long ago, versailles has played a few shows, and im sure many others have been. In the long run, what i'm trying to say is, if any artist can bring Jrock into america, It will be X.
Kind of sad they didn't go more into the history of X to be honest...
Personally I don't think Yoshiki is 'the face of X' for me only one person can fill that role - hide.
Yoshiki is such a superstar in his own right- but the thing that makes X Japan so special is that it couldnt happen without all of them! Without Toshi it wouldn't be X, without Pata and Heath its not X, without Yoshiki its not X... and thats why I'm so nervous about thier new stuff... Because without hide is it still X?
I love the band and wish them continued success overseas. The quality of their songs outshines most of the rock bands before, during and no doubt after them.
Not a bad report to introduce American audiences to 0.05% of X Japan, despite not touching on their long eventful history and the many things that make them the icons they are today. But realistically, the report is only trying to introduce them and to give a lot more back story, etc would probably not be appropriate for this context.
I just hope that they can make new fans who will learn more about the band, its history and legacy.
omg when i watched this on tv i scream bloody murder! i was like "OMG YOSHIKI!! OMG HE'S ON MY TV OMG!" and my mom came running what what i made her cry she though i was dying XD I was like no mom it's Yoshiki! I was so excited to see this!
It's kind of lame that they didnt address the fact that X-Japan has been around for a very long time, and has a lot of history. Then again, what more can we expect from a tiny surface-level news story on a major news network. They do this little news story as if its some kind of quirky thing, but X-Japan has more talent than most of the garbage going on in America right now. And they just had to throw in the part about Yoshiki being inspired by KISS. X-Japan owns KISS anyday.
@bluepandaman Well, they did say that they were bigger than Bruce Springsteen, the Beatles, and the Rollingstones combined.... That's a pretty huge statement in itself, I think. And the KISS thing only helps, really, cuz that's part of their target audience right there. Most Americans will probably need that kind of information to spark even any curiosity. 'Course, playing Lollapalooza doesn't hurt, either. :)
@bluepandaman So true. I love the band and wish them continued success overseas. The quality of their songs outshines most of the rock bands before, during and no doubt after them.
@guillermovlogs still.. X owns KISS. They were an inspiration for X but they were just 1 group that helped teach 1 small portion of many lessons of music throughout yoshiki's life, they've taken that and turned it into something bigger. X is just amazing, I have been waiting for Japanese music to come to the states but people aren't ready for such complex and Mind Blowing Music just yet.... or are they?
@Takiado I totally agree with you, KISS was just one small portion of Yoshiki's life, but the term "X owns KISS" just sounds like a put down towards KISS thats all. and X is amazing
@edurafa69 technically x is still better in terms of musicianship and composition and maybe live but that one really is personal taste but in terms of music there are technically superior. i still love kiss but x is much more versatile.
Love yoshiki
