If you wre a member of the choir, why r u calling the pastor as Hayes, you should have more respect and acknowledge him as Rev, or Pastor or Doctor Hayes. I am a member of the choir and have been since the days of 6850 Cottage Grove.
I remember this song from when I lived in Chicago and Shelby Williams was the organist. If I'm not mistaken this rendition sounds quite a bit like First Church music. Brings back good memories.
On that note we won't even mention Herbert Williams, Leon Guyton, Cynthia Price, and Lucretia Hagen. Now that Langely era was a whole 'nother story..There wasn't a church choir in the city that could TOUCH Cosmopolitan back in the mid 70's..There 11pm broadcast was usually full.
Youa are absolutely correct. I have some recordings with Gina Dowell and Hayes always had a good choir. My favorite of all was Sammy Cheatham. That falsetto I have not heard the likes of since.
Gina Dowell and Pat Harrell weren't no joke either..Back then they had beat down singers..Diane was singing soprano..They had an alto and tenor section to die for..Penny, Muffy, Dori,Harriet, Dorothy, Francine,Gwen, were staunch altos..Grady,was a tenor section way before the Larry's came..And that Michelle was and beat down soprano section..These youngins are riding off the coattails of the trail blazers..Believe it and receive it!
Sing it Sharon! Gosh, she is a GREAT singer. I loved this song and I never heard of it before and from 01:45 to 02:01 Sis. Brown is singing with her! I love both Sis.Brown and Sharon!! This does indeed sound like good 'olde church and I think it was taped in the mid 90s. One question though, whatever happen to Sis.Brown? I think she passed on, but i'm not sure...

I remember when Sharon first came to the church around 1977 she used to sing 'When I Think About The Goodness of Jesus, and If Jesus Goes With Me.

Sharon was one of the greatest singers to come through Cosmo. I miss her and "Is he satisfied with me".

This must be a Chicago standard...First Church of Deliverance does a version of this on Sunday nights during the Power Hour.
