  • but i swear, i swear it was in self defense!!

  • Alcaholic face.

  • back-ground vocal and maracas is Yvonne Elliman.

    ♪ i shot the sher-----. ♪

    beautiful voice.

If I Can't Have You on Saturday Night Fever.

  • Stoned..wasted..and a beard you lose a badger in but still delivers the perfect solo...Clapton is god !

  • @73moley That beard isnt that intense, definitely right about the stoned and wasted part.

  • is that young gary moore in the yellow t shirt?

  • @rionmanful hahaha no, it's George Terry

  • At 3.45- 3:48 the smallest fill or guitar riff ever; its the same thing you hear at the beginning in lenny kravitz's "I belong to you"

  • I think that's Yvonne Elliman on the left there with the nice maracas.

  • @straycatttt You're right! I really like her. Good eye!

  • music man amps !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Drunk as a lord!!! Still genius though. Most lead guitarists couldn't play this sober!

  • Great performance - I remember watching it on jubilee night aged 15 - the first few notes of the solo are pure genius but I think he was very drunk on the night as his speech was slurred and he looks unwell. Nevertheless, always makes me feel good about the world!

  • @4dorno

yea man he was a heeaaavyyyy alcoholic at this point... such bummer, i always wonder how much further his music could have progressed if he hadn't regressed into alcoholism...

  • @metart93 And racism.

  • .....I forget The beat of the night and Good boys in the wrong by Bob Geldoff. There Eric plays two very good solos on wha wha.

  • Sometimes people tend to forget how good and fine Eric was on wha wha.

In my opinion every time he played wha wha something special was going to happen....

If you don't believe me, please listen to Tales of brave Ulysses, White room, Presence of the Lord, Roll it over, Breaking point, Pretending (live versions). In the 70's he played live on wha wha Little wing, Badge, Blues power, After midnight and Layla, too.

    And Shot the sheriff...of course.

  • Best version of it. Solo is damn perfect.

  • and God said eric clapton shall rock his ass off

  • The best

  • omg this is ... PURE MAGIC, damn i wish time machines did exist :/

  • @Shady9696 well youtube is the closest thing to a time machine with rare gems like these. thanks for posting.

  • @jumpmanJB23 So true. This is the main reason why I love Youtube. Love watching clips like these.

    Clapton's the man.
