  • looks sweet

  • It doesn't sound much faster at all than an Emerson 29646.

  • @triton115

Both the 29646 and this S3 are 4-pole motors, and should run around the same loaded RPM. However, this S3 will out-accelerate the 29646 (I have two of those) and I have compared them (video to come) The 29646 is a GREAT fan BTW, as are all older Emersons. Emerson 6-wing fans are amongst the finest fans ever made as were their 4-wingers.

  • I love it man, I happen to be a fan collector also,I have 112 fans including a 1923 Westinghouse in mint condition,I actually want to find a Century like this I did find one but someone beat me to it.where can I find one.

  • I found a Century fan circa 1920's, I did a little Q&A on Ebay at that time, I described the model number, the cage was steel , the blades were brass, the osscilating mechanism on my fan was very busy and what I would call over engineered, the housing was not cast iron, it was pot metal, I was urged not to attempt restoration. I wanted to remove the stator from the housing so I could at least replace the head wire for starters, it was just not worth it. I still have the cage and blades.

  • now made to a -2 hey.

  • probably

  • Very nice. Those are the Skelatel models, right?

At any rate, the lack of difference with the speeds is likely due to the higher voltage we have today, I notice my house current can get up to 125 volts. I've read on the AFCA forum that running the fan on a variac set to 110 volts will yield a bit more difference in speeds.

    Neat fan!

  • these are infact known as skelatal motors! ill have to try my variac on my fan!

  • I would like to have an S3 one day. is this a 12 or 16" fan? (I really like 16" fans)

  • This one is 12" I have a 16" S3 in storage, won it on ebay some yearz ago, and I haven't even opened the two cartons to inspect it! I prefer 12" fans. I will eventually restore (was in really good condition) but I have several other fan/motor projects going at the moment.

  • i just got me one! expencive but worth every penny!
