They bombed the Man Made river Project and (and its spare parts factory) that gave water to everyone in Libya and was hoping to give water to the whole of Africa .... for FREE. Free water to a continent. The French are going crazy to get there water company there.
Now water is imported via Qatar and only the rebels have access to it - The Water weapon to force allieagance. Evil Gaddafi cud have stopped the water to Rebel Bengazi much easier than bombing them. SO WHO IS EVIL HERE

@McMeevin, @sandman731000, a lot of times, US intervention into other domestic affairs don't just boil down to altruistic values nor resources. Interventing in Libya gives the ruling administration some political gains. Had Obama ignored Libya then it will be added into a list of things Republican can use against him.
Same thing goes for the French. Sarkozy had been suffering from bad public image, "helping out" Libya gives Sarkozy humanitarian brownie points to balance things out.

America "didn't" get their oil from Libya cause Gaddafi wouldn't sell it too them, and he sold it at such a low cost, to his people! it was NOT taxed by the oil companies! even if it was crude, it's still oil. Now BP have rushed into the country and are establishing trade deals with the NTC to launch ventures into the country. Don't tell me it wasn't partly due to resources, cause you know you're wrong.

@McMeevin Bp also known as British Petrol Is not a American Company. I know it's hard for non Americans to see why a goverment would put its military in harms way for others. For me being a American Veteran its part of who we are to help people in need. Somalia for instance there is nothing in that God forgoten country yet American troop tryied to restore order and Americans did pay the price. But, thats just who we are.
