  • really nice fish, how big is the tank?

  • why does my water get cloudy in less than a week?

  • Fuck that music, and I love your fish.

  • I love ur music whats it called man? And fish are awesome.

  • @mia1144nm i don't know... it was one of the audio swaps youtube offers...

  • SICK FISH! i might get one and if i do itll be in a 30 gal tank and in a month moving to a 266 gal pond please some one tell me if thatll work or not

  • @13andbeast if you don't have the fish yet, why not wait til you get the 266gal pond first then get the fish? eliminate the 30 gal tank...

  • why the shovel nose's stomach is big ?:P

  • @will20091995 he just ate

  • hes so big it makes the tank look small!!!

  • hahahahhaha (RIP) :P hahahahhaha that cracked me up :P

  • What do i do?? mine dont seem to want to eat anything!!!! HELP!!

  • @MultiAnimelover1234 They can sometimes stop eating when they are stressed- check high ammonia or nitrate levels as catfish can particularly be sensitive to it; also make sure it has a quite little spot in the tank where it can lye on the bottom undisturbed if it is displaying territorial behavior.

  • My tiger shovelnose scoffs at the sinking catfish pellets.

  • you had a wonderful RTC, but what happen to it? how did it pass away? :(

i'm gonna be getting one this up coming monday :)

  • @candy18869 thanksgiving weekend(2008) i went away and my heating system in my house failed bringing the house temp to 45°, water temp was 60°. two 300w heaters were no match for such low temps. found him on his side. didn't seem to affect the others.

  • @apauln what a shame, s/he was very beautiful :). i got my little RTC and i'm so very happy to have him/her...i named IT bruce :D, hes only about 2 in a half inches and hope to see him grow :)

    sorry for your lost :(

  • Nope can't house a TSN or RTC in an American 180 gal! Uk 180 gal yeah u can x

  • sooooo fat hahahhaha

  • would i be able to house a tsn or rtc in my 180 gall? i want one soo bad but i hear they get huge, im not sure about tsns tho

  • thanks man

  • when there little about 2inch what do you guy feed them.. my not active at all... only hide under the rock only..and when i make it come out it just sit in the bottom of the gravel only doing nothing..

  • @hmoobthoj09 mine also hid in the beginning and i hear that a lot that they are timid. i would cut up a nightcrawler(worm) and i hand feed mine where he was hiding. after a month he'll be all over the tank.

the 1st video i took of him is the 1st time he came out of hiding and he was unafraid after that...

  • how many gallons ?

  • how many fish died when your rtc died

  • @awinski999 just the redtail...

  • Why did the RTC die?

  • @BenSow95 my boiler in my house took a crap over the thanksgiving weekend... the temp in the house dropped to 43°... wasn't home.

  • Awe, RIP to your catfish. What great coloration. How big was it? Don't they grow to several feet?

  • @bbqliliha it was about 2feet... they can grow to 5'

  • @apauln Whoa, those get huge. I've seen them in pools on the Internet, there's even one that loves to be petted. Are you going to get another one? Thanks for the reply. =)

  • @bbqliliha maybe one day...

  • @apauln Good luck when/if you do!

  • i realy want one RTc but my tank is to small ;(

  • damn both catfish look really fat

  • the bright blood red tail is more from mood. i had 9 in rtc with blood red tail withs friends in the tank and it ate all of them in one night! when it was me about 16 inches it's tail was orange.

  • Hi I had a question, my redtail started to turn pale and hasn't eaten in about 2-3 days. He is swimming a lot more than usual. Do you know what's wrong with it?

  • hes chilled

  • how big do they usually get before their tails start showing the brightness of red??

  • @largemouthbassdude22 i didn't pay attention to that... i don't know. but my videos were taken once a month for 16 months if you want to look though them. his tail never got "bright red"

  • @largemouthbassdude22 its usually a blackish color, until they reach around 8-10"s (it slowly fades to red), so a couple months

  • i just got rid of my asian redtail because it was wayyy to aggresive biting and tearing at my other friendly fish in the tank..i just bought a small baby redtail catfish the regular ones and he is very small little over a inch i personally didnt think they could be that small but idk what to feed him because he is so small any ideas???????? thanksss

  • that's about the size that i got mine...

try to get him on pellets... i started mine on night crawlers and feeders which started to get expensive. then moved on to fish bought at the supermarket(cheapest they had, $2.99lb).

if you watched my other vids, you'd see the 1st video of mine was 1 month after i got him and he grow to 9".

  • i have had a asian redtail catfish for about a month now just a baby still i was told that they are very aggresive towards tank mates but i havent seen any of that..how big do asian redtails get??

  • @largemouthbassdude22 don't know anything about asian redtail except they don't get big, from what the pet store owner said...

  • NICE CATS!!!!!

  • Do you think your tiger shovel nose is going to get much bigger then it is?

  • @sideofko i'll never know... last july i put him in my pond, he made it to november... 2' was his final length at 2 years old...

  • what kind of plant is floating at the surface of the water?

  • @Wrath1428

don't know the name of the plant but they are a typical house plant that are easily re-rooted thru the vine stem... i just cut a piece and draped it over the tank supports. leaves don't do well under water but they do great above water.

roots grow really wild and have to be trimmed. the leave are a tear drop shape mostly green with yellow or white streaks running thru...

  • i bought one at 2,inch and buy the time 7months came he was over two foot

  • wow, that's really fast... mine grow the 1st month from 2" to 9", then after a few months of feeding him lots of food, i slowed his food intake and that slowed his growth. when he died he was 2' in 16months..

  • @apauln died in 16 months? you need a lesson in ethics. "Ohh let me get a cool big fish to impress people with how big it gets. then I'll over feed, the water will get cloudy, the fish will be unhealthy from overfeeding food he doesnt eat in his regular habitat like goldfish, he'll get too big for his tank but im cheap and wont get a bigger one. then he'll die prematurely like the other 95% of fish that hobbyists keep." Before you buy a fish and doom it how bout a little research and planning.

  • @noonreichl wow, you failed to get anything right...

and he died because my fernace in my house failed over thanksgiving that year in which temp. in the house dropped to 45°. so when you are 'anal'izing me, you yourself should do a little research.

  • wow dude... get over it

  • are you talking to me or "noonreichl"?

  • How would you dispose of such a big fish after it dies?

  • flushed him down the toilet...lol.

no, i actually put him in the freezer until the ground thawed in the spring, then buried it by the rhododendrons as fertilizer... he was pretty heavy trying to get him out of the tank...

  • FISH FELAI.. how how ever it is spelled lol

  • FILET

  • i would eat it. i heard catfish taste good

  • how bigs your tank

  • 220gals 7'x2'x2'

  • thank you very much did you get all your fish from babyes

  • yes, i bought all fish as babies. when bought, they were all about 1"-2"...

  • just so you know it probely died cause you over fed it he looks fat but nice job man that a money fish and you got it big way to go

  • no.... he died because the water temp. dropped extremely low, due to my fernace quitting over the thanksgiving weekend...

i don't know why you think he's fat... all the redtails i see look the same... and his stomach may look big but that's because he just ate...

  • just get a shovel and some pool liner and dig you a 5,000 gal pond

  • i did 6X better than that... i dug a 30000 pond

  • whats the music's title?love it

  • don't know... it's one of youtube's audio dubbing feature...

  • I'm mad shovelnose catfish need at least 200 gallons, and i was bout to get one and put it in a 29 gallon. :o

  • Nice shovelnose

  • my red tail has grown up! =p

  • dude that other tiger fish is fuckin a

  • i'd be scared when cleaning :C

  • just out of curiosity, what is the minimum tank volume (in gallons) for a lima shovelnose catfish? I have searched everywhere, and I get mixed information on its size and space requirements. I don't know who to believe.

  • supposedly lima's grow to 24"... my tsn is now between 24"-26" and he swims around fine. my tank is 220gals...

  • Whats a good sized tank for some big large and small mouths?

  • 220gal should be ok for 1 or 2... but bigger is, always, way better...

  • is that a pacu or piranha??

  • pacu...

  • Hi how bigs your tank

  • 220g

  • What filtration do you have

  • my 7 month rtc is bigger than that

  • sorry to hear about your RTC man, the one I bought a few months ago is doing GREAT! its around 10-11 inchs now, not growing nearly as fast as I was expecting.

  • why did your rtc die

  • thanksgiving weekend i went away and my heating system in my house failed bringing the house temp to 45°, water temp was 60°. two 300w heaters were no match for such low temps. found him on his side. didn't seem to affect the others.

    SUX BIG TIME!!!

  • what kind of fish is that? the brown color... is it caltfish also?

  • brown bullhead catfish. they are common in the lakes of north east. i don't know how wide spread they are through out the country...

  • they look surprisingly healthy for such a crowded tank, you must do water changes every single day

  • yeah, ok... try more like once every 6 months, if that...

  • how do you keep the water so clear and healthy? what kind of filtration do you use? beautiful fish

  • Eheim 2250 Canister Filter and up until last summer an undergravel filter(until all 3 of my power heads failed at the same time). had the Eheim 2250 since 97.

this last tank setup was 2 years ago and i only cleaned the Eheim 2250 once.

  • i just cheched the price of the Eheim 2250 Canister Filter and it's only about $20 more than when i bought it in 97... thatpetplace. com

  • the water quality is excellent. the redtail is swimming around and you can barely see his gills moving. the tiger has an infection(which causes fish to breath harder) on his neck and he's not even breathing hard...

i am a very lazy person, i don't do what i thought i was suppose to. i guess these fish are hardy.

  • lol the red tailed catfish and tiger shovelnose are to fat and cute :p

  • Does the shovelnose grow to the same size as the RTC?

  • no, RTCs get max 4'7'', TSNs only get to 3'3''

  • yes. tsn and redtails can go to 5'.

and i've seen them in the public aquariums that size...

  • TSN cant get 5 feet.

  • "i've seen them in the public aquariums that size... "

  • check out my videos u can see how fast they grow my redtailcatfish from "1" to "14" in just 9 month's

  • check out my videos... mine grew from 1 1/2" to 9" the first month

  • in thailand, u could buy loads of these good quality red tail catfish for only 80 baht. which is like 2 $!

  • if they were that cheap here, people would be over crowding their tanks with them.

  • I posted a video of them in there growout tank just for you. =) lol

  • Hey, I talked to you a while back about not being able to find a RTC but I finally got one today!!! he was only $19.99 I also got a RTC x TSN last week. There both so awsome!

  • that's great. how big are they? that's a good price... mine were closer to $30. well. where's the video's of them???

  • The RTC x TSN is about 4 inchs and the RTC is about 2.5 inchs Ill get a video for you later. =)

  • nice rtc man

  • pretty cool but i cant seem to find a tiger shovel nose were did u get urs

  • pet store... they usually have 1 at a time.

  • oops, i meant 2 says they usually have 1 once in a while...

  • what size tank is that?

  • are they money plant?

  • ???

  • the floating plants. what are they?

  • oh...

they are actually a common viney house plant. the leave are tear drop shape, green with white or yellow streaks. i snipped off from the plant and draped it over the tank support. roots grow fast. leave don't do well under water but grows healthy above water...

  • What are those little catfish? Are they eclipse cats?

  • brown bullheads... they are common in the lakes, at least the north east.

  • i hav a TSN in my 20 that is just a baby and about 5'' long now. i am goin to get a new tank how fast will it grow, and can i put it with piranhas?

  • check my other videos... i started videoing a little over a 1 1/2 years ago when mine was about 5-6 months old... this is the same tsn... you can see how fast he's grown...

  • how much gallons is your tank it looks like you are a catfish lover just like me

  • 220gal

  • thanks

  • I love your fish!! Im trying to get a rtc but none of my lfs have been able to order me one. but I will get one!

  • i don't understand pet store owners... they never want to help getting you what you want... i tell them what i want, they say no problem, and then they give you all kinds of excuses why they couldn't get it...

  • I know what your talking about, I asked one of the pet stores by me about ordering over 100 bucks worth of fish and they said no problem, and they never got back to me about any of it, the other lfs near me is trying to get me one, but they dont do many fish orders because alot of the fish they sell are bred by local breeders, so Im just hoping it will be on one of there fish lists soon=\

  • you had a red tail cat fish in a pond??? where do you live?

  • i live in az so i dont worry about temperature.

  • great fish. i used to have a baby redtail and it grew like crazy. unfortunately it died from the rain. anyways nice cat, it is growing pretty fast. you should consider a larger tank. mine lived in a 900 gal. pond

  • "it died from the rain" ???

  • ammonia poisoning. rain carries massive amounts of ammonia which is toxic
