  • This is a live recording from 1979, wonder was it with a cassettrecorder, no wonder the sound is bad. But the song and the performance was exellent :)

  • I think that she should have recorded this song in the studio.... it is very beautiful and it is a shame that we only can hear it in bad recordings....

    Thank you for sharing it.

  • I CRY!!!!!

  • I CRY!!!!

  • :P I CRY!!!!

  • :P I CRY

  • Is that really her singing it? Too many flat notes for me to believe it......

  • Yes it really is Agnetha singing and playing this beautiful song that she wrote herself - though its live and not very well recorded!

  • @stillovescott I think it sounds more beautiful than ever before... The vulnerability in her voice is heard more clearly in this song, which adds this extra emotion to a song that requires it! The recording is not the best though..

  • Wow that almost made me cry

  • I could have done with this song 30 years ago. Where can I get a download of this. Its awesome! makes you see Agnetha in a different light. Not just a blonde bombshell but creative, inspirational and intelligent....

  • You're right this is absolutely fantastic and very moving! Amazingly Agnetha never recorded this but wrote it especially for Abba's concert tour of 1979-80 and that was the only time it was performed. Who else but Agnetha would write this well and then not record the song - so its not available for download as far as I know. Yes she was fantastically creative in her own right before, during and after Abba.

  • at 2:43 she sounds like she was gonna cry..

  • Oh wow doesn't even sound like her but it's beautiful.

  • Cheers Becky - yes the quality is not too good here as this is recorded live at a concert. This song was never officially recorded, but its got all the emotional qualities of Agnetha's genius song writing talent in it and shows what we missed from her in the Abba years! I'm going to try for another batch of free autographed photos from her soon if you wish to be included as Fan Club founder!

  • when was this performed ??

  • @warwolf193 1979 it says it in the description : )

  • oh woops lol didnt see that ^^ thanks

  • Agnetha forever , Agnetha fantastic, Agnetha big woman!!

  • Yes I bet this emotional song was the highlight of the concert and got one of the biggest cheers. Agnetha deserves it for writing and singing it and playing it herself at the piano. She's very talented and its a pity she did not write more for Abba!

  • Agnetha u are just ao amazing!!!!

  • Yes Agnetha is incredibly talented considering that she wrote this wonderful song for a concert tour only! And then she performs it live herself on piano before a huge audience every night!

  • Beautiful : )

  • It was written by Agnetha in 1979, especially for Abba's concert tour of that year!

  • This woman is unbelievable! The more I found out about Agnetha, the more I love her. The talent she has seems to never end. Thank you, John!

  • You're right, we haven't got to the bottom of Agnetha's talent yet!

  • abbafanglosuk,

Agnetha is not only unbelievably talented and beautiful, she's downright charming. This song is very emotional. I think this is one of her best solo English songs. I would even put this song up there with "The Heat is On" and "Wrap Your Arms Around Me". I hope and pray that one day Agnetha Fältskog will walk into a studio and record this song. The rest of the world needs to hear it, especially in this struggling economy.

  • Yes Agnetha's one of those very rare people that we simply cannot praise enough, as she deserves more! This is a wonderful song that she wrote especially for the concert tour. She didn't take the trouble to record it afterwards, preferring to concentrate on Abba's work and her family. It would be great if she could record it now, but its looking unlikely. This song represents Agnetha's story in many ways, its like she's writing about herself - cheers from John!

  • wow what a song! is so amazing how Agnetha had everything...she was not only a pretty face but she was truly talented and smart!

  • she really is amazing!

  • i have heard 3 versions of this song! the one from milwaukee (US tour) is the best i feel!! it has more of a Grease sound to it on the 2nd chourus!! i wished she recorded!! but there is a recorded version by Kicki Moberg which is done in swedish!! but agnetha vocals are much much better!!

  • You're right, I've heard all 3 versions also. I like the one from Japan best, but this is the only one I've got. Yes Kicki Moberg has recorded this song, but its Agnetha's song, no-one else matters. There's till time for Agnetha to record it yet, fingers crossed!

  • this is very nice song

  • This is typical of how Agnetha's songs gradually grow on you Matilda. Her songwriting abilities deserve much more recognition.

  • Thanks for the detailed background info John

There must be a well recorded version of this in the vaults, and it should be released

  • Abba rehearsed all the songs before the tour Shay, and Michael B. Tretow recorded some of the rehearsals on 24-track tapes. But there is no evidence this song was in the rehearsals recorded. I guess Agnetha could re-record it, but the special concert atmosphere cannot be recreated now.

  • This is a wonderful song John. Its a shame that it was never released. Thanks for sharing:)

  • Agnetha wrote this song especially for the tour Kat. Her solo career was on hold at this time while she was dedicated to Abba, so there was no means or thought to release it. Things were hectic and unsettled for her privately also, as she had personal issues to resolve. I guess it was not a priority to record or release it.

  • amazing song wow i wish there was more of this, shame the quality is so poor , there must be a better recording out there , thanks john, now thats what i call a song ,from my aingel agnetha too, why no recordings ?????

  • Its taken from a live concert Bill, that's why the quality is poor. The Japan 1980 concert recording of this song is definitely better quality, but I haven't got that one. I think there was no opportunity for Agnetha to record this after the tour finished, since her solo career was on hold at this time.

  • Very nice John and your little blogs with the videos really add a great touch for those of us who are not in on a lot of the background. Thanks for taking the time.

    Jim

  • That's why I put all the background info in Jim, there are plenty of Abba fans unaware of their interesting history. It helps me to learn about them too!
