What is the advantage of a unit like the Flatliner Six over something like the Visualsound 1 Spot? The price difference is huge but they are made for the same purpose. Is it the amount of noise the power supply would create?
you like the band Explosions in the Sky by any chance? you got a similar sound. i love those guys. awesome gear and even better playing dude! what i like (and its rare in a guitar player - somthing to do with egos i believe) is that you know when to play and when not to. which is so important, i'm a big believer in subtleties.
Oh, yes, I like EitS but I wouldn't say they've influenced me in any way. My phrasing and chording is actually way different and I actually don't listen that much to EitS anymore.
But thanks for the compliments! Check out the new demo as well!
you, sir, are awesome!! i've seen all your videos and you get amazing sounds. those are near to the ones i am chasing too... but i cant afford such gear!
I've been thinking about getting that octa-switch. Is there a way the routing works with an amps effects loop??? I usually put reverb and delay in the amps loop so I can utilize the drive of the amp without clipping the effects.
Absolutely fantastic. In the first section of this, before you stop to change the settings/pedals etc, what pedals do you actually have switched on? Are you running loops and samples? There's so many layers to it.
Thanks for the compliment. No samples, just the guitar itself with delays, reverbs stacked on top of one another. I guess, from the sound of it, I was using the mxr dyna comp, DL-4 [Tube Echo], t.c. electronic Nova Delay [reverse tape delay - 750ms], Deluxe Memory Man [250ms - vibrato mode], BOSS RE-20 [tapped out delay with high feedback rates, loads of bass, treble turned down], BOSS RV-5 [Modulated Reverb].
I think that's it. I can't remember exactly. The DMM might not be in there, but I'm sure about the rest. When I go over the swell stuff, I've got the Choralflange engaged as well.
does digitech compressor, chourus and delay pedal sound good for a slow post rock kinda super clean rhytym also i plan maybe to get a digitech overdrive pedal for some clapton and a fuzz face for hendrix does all this sound good?
No one is going to be able to tell you if this is 'good' - it's all subjective. I, personally, am not a fan of Digitech products, they're just like BOSS, but a little less special. I'm just a pedal freak that likes expensive pedals, that's all.
On the combo of compressor, chorus, delay;
sure, that always sounds nice. Though it depends on which pedals, of course. No pedal is the same.
haha, you're too cute! But they aren't sideburns, actually, It's just my beard but you can't see it from the sides. So, now you've mentioned it, it kinda does look like I have huge sideburns!
Hey Lennart!
Op andere stukken dit: mxr dyna comp, Deluxe Memory Man, BOSS RE-20 [long decays, bass up, treble down for mixing it in], Nova Delay [reverse tape like delay, 750ms] BOSS RV-5 and with some parts [like the swell stuff] the Choralflange and the DL-4 [auto-volume patch, highly tweaked]
Thanks.
Hey I have a vintage 1968 Fender Bassman. Like the twin, it doesnt have an effects loop, so my question to you is, how are you using an effects loop if at all?By the way, it sounds absolutely gorgeous!
Well, as you've mentioned before, the Twin doesn't have an FX loop, so the effects all go in front of the amp. Luckily the Twin Reverb is a perfect amp for that, it takes effects VERY well.
Reverb and delay are absolutely my most used-effects. I really love textures, combining them, having them be like a pad that floats underneath my playing are have it like a very rhythmic [especially delay] effect.
Thanks, mate! It's my atmospheric patch. In this loop setting I was running: mxr dyna comp, Deluxe Memory Man, BOSS RE-20 [long decays, bass up, treble down for mixing it in], Nova Delay [reverse tape like delay, 750ms] BOSS RV-5 and with some parts [like the swell stuff] the Choralflange and the DL-4 [auto-volume patch, highly tweaked] and on some other parts the tube-echo of the DL-4.
Yeah, you think? Hm, yeah, the other one looked cleaner since almost all of the pedals were facing the right direction + it wasn't as deep as this one. But yeah, trust me, this board is way better. When I hooked everything up to the Octa-Switch I was amazed, I had all my tone back [I had a huge tone suck problem] and a lot of noise had disappeared. Also, the Octa let's me put the tape delay in a loop which takes care of the noise problem of tape delays. Cheers for favoring my vids, by the way!
Haha, yes, I have been known to be quite anal about my pedal geometry. Wow, that does sound pretty great, I'd love to have that sort of organisation but at present I don't have a big enough board to justify an Octaswitch! Also I cycle my set-up at a ridiculous rate, nothing stays the same for over a week!
Yeah, I had to upgrade to a different board, as you see now. It does fit now, but it's completely stacked, as you can see. I really can't find another place for a pedal while I'm actually looking for one more for some modulation. The t.c. electronic Nova Modulator. And yeah, I'm pretty anal about my setup as well. It's all pretty clean and neat in my vision though.
@TheSwedeJohan
Thanks, I guess .......

@DaanJM
Exactly. Those power supplies are isolated, 1 Spots, however, aren't.

everything powered by the Artec Power Bricks ?

Back then, yeah. But now I use Burkey Flatliner SIX units.

@DemoColorScheme
are those Artec power bricks any good, ive been condsidering buying one for my pedalbaord
pleadguitar 11 months ago
@pleadguitar
They're decent, but there's better stuff that's isolated, like the Voodoo Labs units and the Burkey units.

Thanks! It's the Line 6 DL-4's Auto-Volume Echo - basically just a volume envelope - it swells the guitar, removes the attack.
