It bothered you? Good, because thats exactly what the film makers wanted you to feel. Because torture as a word quickly becomes watered down if its repeated enough times, but showing us what it really looks like, now that has an impact. I hope I speak for all (Hopefully) when I say that you must be one mentally sick sadistic psychopath to torture someone to death like that.

Holding the test of time, in terms of story examination of a sadistic torturer doctor and associates hired by governments to torture and kill off political dissidents, usually labor and human rights organizers that corrupt family oligarchies tied to richer nations brutalize. The CIA, The Mossad, The School of the Americas have longstanding histories of such torture/murder and assassination tactics on "subversives" Globally. The torturerers are deserving of the torture they meted out.
