It's ironic that her best role at this point required her to speak with an accent. BTW, she also speaks French but with a German accent. What an incredible lady. Diane really is an exception of all the german girls I ever met (Not that I know her personally). When I went to Germany last year I was genuinely disappointed with the majority of the girls over there, most of them behave rather awkwardly to foreigners, they have manly and square faces, they grow small breasts and even if I manage to find any good-looker I learn she is an eastern european. I wish Germany produced pretty girls like Diane Kruger not the street-corner whores.

Sidemark: Spanish is not a germanic language, but belongs to the group of roman languages, along with French (y, French too), Italian, Romanian and some others. So speaking German doesn't necessarily make it easy to learn French. So although there of course are some similarities (no wonder regarding the geographical neighborhood), that's still kinda like comparing apples with bananas, imo.

well, since there are so many countries in europe and since they're so small compared to us, they tend to speak several different languages so they can communicate with each other. i knew a girl from switzerland who spoke 5.

i guess so. she was fluent in english, that's for sure. she was an exchange student. i'm assuming she's fluent in everything else. once you learn a germanic language (that's not just german. it's a group of languages), then it's easy to learn the other ones. for instance, if you're fluent in german, it'll be easier to learn french, dutch, etc.
