I saw a band in a bar in Fairfax, CA last Wednesday night which included one member of Poor Man's Whiskey. For their last number they unplugged and did Wagon Wheel. Less than half the people knew it , but still it ended in a sing along. Definetly the most soulful song of the performance. I'm not sure its the "Freebird" of a generation as one fellow said, but I sure wouldn't mind if it was!

I'm not sure genre matters in this case, or others for that matter. Good music is just that. Genres were made as another form of stereotyping. If you like it, you do, and if you don't you don't. Wether it's Dylan, Guthrie, or Cash, it doesn't matter about what other songs you do or don't like in a "genre". Old Crow Medicine Show is great, that's all that really matters. If you really want to break it down, wagon wheel sounds like OAR and Bob Dylan had Flogging Molly throw in a little gael
