Yes but what you fail to understand is that the 'truth' you value so much means nothing to those who have faith. The 'science' or 'evidence' that atheists like to quote show that the great flood never happened. BUT it says in the bible it did. We place scripture above logical thought and that's why we will go to heaven. You can quote the 'history', geology, archeology, genetics, medicine etc that show the bible is untrue, we don't care. Faith means ignoring all so called 'reality.'

@godof79 I think he's trolling you, but whatever. I don't think that the historical context ever really suggested that the bible is a (translated) word for word account of prehistory.

So, the best models of how the universe began essentially turn on the fact that in one instant there was nothing (much), and then the next there was light, matter, heat, motion and existence. Does genesis detail the ins and outs of quantum mechanics? No. But it's basically the same story.

@godof79 First there is absolutely nothing, and then suddenly all of the newtonian laws of physics, radiation, and fury exist. If we'd researched science into the modern era and found that the universe had always existed, and that galaxies just form and fall apart and then reform, my faith would have taken a big hit -- but it didn't. The fact that the bible indicates that God made the earth on day 6 doesn't phase me. Did preliterate societies need a complex account? No. The love is what matters.

This theory turned on its head the theory espoused by Aristotle and Lao Tzu that the universe was eternal and did not have a starting point. Einstein even traced the development of the universe back to its very origin called the "singluarity event" when the universe popped into being.

Since the universe must begin to exist then science requires that there be a cause for its existence because something cannot come out of nothing. @MrMick73 i see suicide as when you feel hopeless and think the only or best way to end the pain and problems is death. However when a true Christian due to circumstances, chooses to lay down their life instead of defying God, it's an act of submission to God, knowing that He is great and due to their love and faith in Him they choose to die rather then deny Him. Jesus did the same thing on the cross, He submitted to God's will and died. :)

@MrMick73 If you go before a judge guilty of murder, rape etc. Will he just forgive you or will he send you to jail? There is no remission of sin without the shedding of blood (Hebrews 9:22). Jesus was as the lamb without blemish (1 Peter 1:19). Jesus shed that blood for us to cover our sin and by faith in Him and His work on the cross, we are covered by His blood and forgiven. No man took Jesus' life, he layed it down willingly with the power to take it up again (John 10:18).

@MrMick73 You won't find that definition of suicide anywhere. Blood has always been the covering of sin, in the Old Testament and the new. That's just the way God had it be. The Bible says Jesus is our ransom (Matthew 20:28,Mark 10:45,1 Timothy 2:6). The ransom he paid was with His blood for our sin. He payed our fine, the fine we can never pay ourselves so we can go free. That's our covering. Magic is nothing to do with Christianity.

@MrMick73 we are all sinners and the wage of sin is death so some1 or something has to die to pay for our sins so earlier people used to sacrifice lambs or goats for their sins but that was not able to get us out of the debt of sin so God sent his son (who was sinless) to die for our sin so that we all can have hope for an everlasting life................hope it helps if ur still confused u can ask me :)

According to the law given to Moses, if we sin, we deserve death. GOD KEEPS TO HIS WORD. Therefore, If God just forgives with no price paid - God is unfair, AND he didnt keep His word. If just any one person dies for everyone as a ransom for everyone else, that doesn't do any good if the person is already sinful (cuz he deserves death anyway). THEREFORE, God sent his one and only son, who is GUILTLESS and without wrong to take on the sin of the world
