@lugonic97 ...The real flight takes about 9.5 hours outbound including a refuling stop in either Dublin or Shannon. The return flight is usually about 8 hours direct from JFK. to LCY.
First, put FSX in the title. Not too many like to watch a sim. And can a 318 make a trans-atlantic flight? I think the EATOPS rule prohibits it. Oh well, just a game, right?
@ThePickleBranston .......would seem its not only your user name thats pickled ?...visit ba.com....the A318 flies non stop from JFK to LCY no problem :)
@amc3 I wasnt in a pickle, I was telling someone else that said something along the lines of "Why would BA send their european planes over to america..." I was telling him to do his research, not the video uploader.
@wwdm ...no need to say sorry mate, when i read they were going to do it, i thought, thats impossible!!!!...but its made possible due to the configuration of the aircraft, they only carry 32 business class passengers. So this allows for maximum fuel enabeling the aircraft to cover the distance back to London. Flights back across the atlantic always take about 30 mins less due to the north atlantic jet streams. But going out, they always have a re-fueling stop in either Dublin or Shannon.
@amc3 at Shannon they do. The passengers clear US Immigration and Customs at Shannon so that when they arrive at JFK they can walk straight out of the airport like a domestic flight.
British Airways have a successful operating service which two A318 aircraft go from London to JFK. They refuel in Dublin when on the way to JFK and refuel coming back from JFK.
Great Video and hard flight, how did you do the passenger view at the start when you could see closing door, i see many people on you tube getting that views.
@kudizu .......Thanks for your comment. Not many flight sim aircraft have inside views of aircraft doors closing. But the one I used is an add on called Aircraft Collection, its all Airbus aircraft. The add on itself is not very good, but the inside views are not to bad. I just done the door closing, then added it to this video. Hope this helps.
@wwdm O.k. so that is not unreal! That's a real route from BA! And a special version of the A319 for example can fly from Germany to Peking, non stop! (A319 CJ VVIP) So, first think and look and than say a word!
BA use 2 A318 aircraft on their London City-JFK route. Both aircraft are configured with 32 buiness class seats and have a refueling stop in Shannon, inbound and ourbound.
The service has been operating successfully for almost 2 years.
@lfarrell96 ....the gear retracts @ 1.36 then at 1.56 he is lining up for the approch...hence the gear is down and locked = 3 green. I tend not to do a lot of "in flight vids as the are a bit more boring, but thanks for your comment. Good to sknow that people actually watch my shit lol...its just a bit of fun for me, nothing serious.
@planeboy737...... well I started off using the A318. Then wanted the door opening from the inside, hence the airbus from Fist Class Simulations ( pretty crap btw ) and forgot to change it back.
did the dame with one of my ryanair videos as well...2 different a/c.....lol

@amc3 The only reason for the refuelling stop at Shannon is because a fully fuelled A318 cannot take off from London City due to the short runway.
oktal3700 1 month ago
@amc3 I thought the stop was only in Shannon. Does Dublin have facilities to process US Immigration and Customs?
