  • could it be uglier?

  • stick a nvidia ion in this and im sold

  • i agree, laggy lol, i love this idea but id stay away from laggy devices, its like PENTIUM 2, just get PAD, no lag better experience, and with LINUX on the tablet , THERE'S NO APPS FOR THAT, They should make ANDROID version so it will not get boring after a week, no apps lol are you kidding me, Id rather be confine on iTunes with TONS of apps choices that be on a Room with only toilet on it!!!

  • @hanspotato22 well u1 hyrbid will get android now they released it i read it somewhere this jan 2011 theyll show it with android win for us both rite?

  • it looks laggy

  • If this thing is priced around $500 ill have no choice but to buy it! much more functional and convenient than the ipad in my opinion and it looks sturdy enough when in netbook mode to carry around easily. looks stronger than ipad in tablet form too! the windows 7 + Linux is a great plus because I do that anyway on my desktop! this is the perfect all in one college device!!!

  • Bad news homes, the price point is closer to $1,000

  • @bbracale

    its like 500 now...

  • Win 7 has been real steady for me compared to XP. I havn't used a mac in years. But the IPad looks just as flimsy if not more. It's great it's thing for storage but it's still as large as this slate. and the 500 dollar vs of Ipad doesnt come with much data space or memory. The swivle version of this computer with just win 7 os starts off at 500 bucks as well and flips over into a touch screen tab and is far more sturdy and thinner then most laptops.

  • eew no thanks this looks retarded in fact it looks really budget. easy to break give me an ipad any day

  • @wildcat1559

An ipad is nothing but a large iphone...get over it.

  • i'd rather buy this than an ipad, unless apple or third parties starts to produce an accessory just like this for the ipad

  • @BBfreak8

Well they have a keyboard dock that will release the same day as the iPad.

I still don't see great uses with the iPad though.

  • Mmmhhh... has some advantages over Apple's iPad, however, it looks to me that when you disconnect the screen, you won't be able to access the web or your e-mail for example.

It looks like you can only view photos, listening to music, watch movies and read e-books. If you want the internet, e-mail, etc, you'll have to connect to the laptop part.

For $1000 for this device vs. $500 for the cheapest iPad, I'll take the iPad. It's not perfect but IMHO is better bang for your buck.

  • @Monket2k Incorrect.

In fact, somewhat magically, if you have a website, Youtube video, or web doc open on the Windows 7 full laptop mode, then disconnect the screen, you will remain on that website/video/doc on the Linux OS tablet.

    WANT

  • it has wifi and can surf the web in tablet form.

if you are on a web page in laptop mode and then pull off the tablet .. it automatically opens the tablet to the same web page...

plus the ipad is a weak sauce iphone in disguise.

You are tied to only iphone apps and cannot mulitask like a regular computer.

    ipad = iphail

  • Where did you get the idea this doesn't have intenet when its disconnected? Its running Linux! And has full internet access, it will even migrate your browser settings so if you are reading an article and disconnect the article will load on the tablet (I saw it on another video review) this thing is 100x better then the iPad.

  • Price point is wrong, btw... if the rumor mill is correct, this should be around $549. That's all the heads up all the distribution has. That makes sense considering Lenovo's current netbook series and cost.

  • its kinda ugly looking

  • This U1 equals to 1.5 laptops O_o !!! mmmm 1arm tablet + 1 win7 laptop

  • 1000 dollars
