this is great for second day hair.... dampen your hair with a spray bottle full of water or a leave in mixed with water and then plunk it before going to bed!
You are amazing and an inspiration. :) As a bi-racial kid, I had many crappy experiences with my hair; it seems the only solution out there for curls is to relax and destroy until it straightens! I dream of creating a hair product line of my own so that other people don't have to suffer.
im gna b honest i have lyk anturalli staright 2 wavy hair yh n wen i scrunch it , it comes out proper curly lyk spiral ringlets wen i scrunch it wen it is wet n then i plunck it wiv the towel n wen i take it out it cums out all cruly i try 2 dry it out wiv the diffuser but it comes out kind ov wavy not so much curly any tips ?
Cool! I've often wondered if anyone still makes a hair dryer like the one my mom used to have. It had a BIG shower cap kind of thing on it and a hose that blew in warm air from a "suitcase" kind of base. It would be like "electric plunking"!
I have "plunked" my curly hair in a shower cap while I put on my makeup (body heat warms and helps dry it) But I always remember that hair dryer...Has anyone seen one like that?!?! (in the last 20 years)
Is she using a Micro Fiber Towel or a T-shirt? cause I ordered Jessicurl products and The "Plunking Towel" and I can't plunk my hair right. Everytime I try to wrap my hair the towel slips off my hair I watched this video like 100 times lol and I can't plunk with my Micro Fiber towel but her hair looks great!!!
@BrunetteBabe1005 I can't do it with a micro-fiber towel either - well, not tightly anyway. I've tried the Curl-ease ones and the Curls Like Us ones. I've found it easiest to use those to scrunch out moisture, and then plunk with a 100% cotton long-sleeved t shirt. Hope that helps :)
Great Video! I've been using this technique for as long as I can remember, and people always told me I was crazy!
But I have a problem. Every time my hair dries on it's own, or even after I applied my product and just forgot about it,after 30-40 minutes my hair ALWAYS turns out to be frizzy again. What do I do?...I've tried serums, lotions, you name it, but it always becomes frizzy and just a huge mess. Is there a way to keep the curls, but lose the frizz and poofyness?
i'M JUST GUESSING. Mabey you should try using another material to plunk with. Instead of using a towel(which i heard was horrible for curly hair) use a t-shirt or a speical plonking towel
@theresa9227 She is using a micro-fiber towel (as she said). It's different from terry-cloth towels because it doesn't have any of those thready bits sticking out, which is what is bad for curly hair, because they roughen up the cuticle and cause terrible frizz. This is what a lot of curly-heads (myself included) use, but any t-shirt ot dishcloth with a similar texture works well too, as long as it's 100% cotton.
@modestynpeace It took me 30 years to discover it, but I finally did. For me what works is to put the product in RIGHT after a quick towel dry when it's still soaking wet. It shouldn't be dripping wet...get the drip out with a microfiber towel, and then immediately put lots of product in. Curly KInky products (at whole foods) are my favourite.
its look hard for a man.

do you scrunch before or after this? What about almost shoulder length hair, do you think that's good for plopping??

I tried this this morning for the first time.
O.M.G. Amazing.
My hair is really thin, wavy, and VERY prone to frizzing. This gave me great definition and really soft waves... NO PRODUCT!
I ordered your line of products... I'm SO excited to try them!

It's called a soft bonnet dryer. you should be able to find one at any beauty supply store or even online. I saw some at sally's.

How come it doesn't work for me
I can't ever get it right and then my hair gets all frizzy and looks like shit.

I've been plunking my hair instead of putting it into a turban and I get better results. Great video, btw, and thanks for sharing!

This technique is REALLY good. 10x better than scrunching.
