@yterrier73 I don't know, to be honest, but it represents a Bomber crew just back from a sortie and still in their flying kit. As soon as I find out I will post the name on here. BTW they knew that the average Bomber crew member didn't get past 5 sorties ! And yet they still flew on.
@Hanglands We haven't heard a thing yet, we're way down the list of importance. If we don't have enough for the top men to give the go-ahead to start buliding, it will not mean it won't happen but that it will be delayed until there is enough in the kitty. The delay could be 2 or 3 years ! We've all been trying to avoid delays because the Veterans are getting older and many are not going to be here to see it unveiled. We've had all sorts of stumbling blocks, money makers and Ivory tower builders
@Rhydian2252 OK, its good that the end of October wasnt the end of all things, but by mid October there was still £1.9 million short... whats the state of play now? Thanks for the info.
@Hanglands That web site is really only for people who know nothing about WWII and what the RAF did. At Robin Gibbs concert in Amsterdam a few weeks ago we had a stall there and I was amazied at some of the questions (and attitudes) we got. A lot of people, especially in the 20 - 30 age area, had no idea of the evil that was taking place and why we had to be harsh. Kids seemed to know more than their elders.
@Hanglands Just heard that the reason we haven't heard if it's on or off is they are still counting !! A pretty feeble excuse I reckon but I think it will include a lot of back-ground dealing to get promises to cover the project. At least it hasn't been put off .... yet !
@TheNDMUK In this case it was because our gutless polititians, frightened of losing votes, listened to the Do-gooder PC brigade who called Bomber crews criminals for killing so many people. Their big line against these men was Dresden, a so called beautiful city with only peaceful people and businesses.
Only now, the Russians have made secret war files public do we know why Dresden was bombed. Our present shower of polititians, no better than those in the past are not making public those files.

I don't particularly have any political preference! But, if I was BNP or Left-Wing Labour or Communist. How can this have an effect on Dresden? This was 65 years ago? F*** beautiful City & people! I was not there! ...,But, it was right a\t the time!

So whats happened with the memorial? AFAIK, they had to show that they had the cash to do it by the 31st October. Has the required sum been acquired?
