  • the only half decent song that these boys ever did

  • BHAHAHAHA! Les going through his Mic Jagger phase. I had forgotten this. Haaa Haaa!!! Thanks. Love the song, though, and love Eric!

  • I'm thinking...I would definitely like it!!!!

  • Wonder what this vid would look like if they performed this song in their roller gear. Hmmmmm........that works for me too......hehe.

  • Leslie, soooo fit, hot and sexy. I agree with everything Cheryl1166 says. Somehow I don't think Leslie performing the song the same way he does in the earlier vids would quite fit the words to this song.........LOL!!! They grew up and moved on. Oooohhhh go Leslie, and YES I LOVE LOVE LOVE the lace up leather pants.......OMGGGGGGG!!!! Whew, getting soooooooo hot in here......

  • one of my favorite songs of theirs, very ahead of the times

  • LMAO!!! At 1:22, he starts to push the envelope, but quickly changes his mind. Damn shame he did'ent go with the moves he was thinking of making at that point (:

  • My husband thanks you Les, for these old video's. LMAO!!!!

  • Why yes i would. I think the man is sexy as hell!!! Theatrics or not. Personally i think his actions are in tune with the words to song if you think about it.

  • This song comes from 1 of their very early albums.

  • If I remember correctly, (and possibly I don't at this point) Les had already left the band by the time that this footage was recorded, and had been sorta forced back to do it due to contractual obligations and threats of lawsuits.... I don't think he and the others were even speaking at this time, if what I heard was correct. SAD.

THAT SAID: Leslie always did know how to wear that pair of lace-up leather pants...DEAR GOD.

And yes, Eric, I believe I would. (Like it, that is)

  • Makes me so happy...he is so shmexy and totally pulls off the leather pants. I dig :D *jumps in tardis and travels back to 70s*

  • I totally agree with you sisters, mckeowzy and rgjd44 !! To anyone who doesn't know this IS Les!He's performs here like he always wanted to be and shows the Les he really IS ! Thank God for that... I loved and still do love the BCR as they were part of my youth...but to be honest I llove this even more because they could be " themselves" here and in the nrs. they played in these years! It took long enough, keeping them in "Jackets" and play like puppets on a string...THIS must been a relief !

  • I have no idea why people assume Leslie is tripped out here...........he was in a hard rock cover band BEFORE the Rollers. He took on the clean cut image of BCR because he was expected to. This is just Leslie enjoying himself.

  • I don't think Leslie was really tripping out on anything at this point. They couldn't stay in tartan clothes forever. They had to move on at some stage as it shows in the change of style of music. They couldn't really sing this song in their tartan gear could they??? I don't think so......Leslie was always energetic and oh so sexy....They had to move on.....they wanted to grow up but unfortunately the industry wouldn't let them.....

  • I tell you Les can always wear his leather pants well...VERY WELL INDEED.....LOL!!!

    LOVE IT!!!!

  • OMG yes I definetily would like it sexy sexy sexy

  • These guys were definitely rockin' live.

  • That's the record.

  • What TV show was this from?

  • I think they were just sick of their squeaky clean image and wanted to try something new. Their fans were adolescent girls and maybe they were seeking a more mature fan base.

  • I totally agree. With such nasty lyrics, how else is Les supposed to behave on stage?

  • I've seen this behavior before (from friends and relatives) and I know that Leslie is definitely "under the influence" of something. I like all the BCR videos here on Youtube but I find this one to be the most disturbing. It really saddens me to see Leslie in this condition.

  • this looks like its from their L.A. days ... so im thinking they were all trippin on something at this point ... as for les ... i'd rather an energetic tripped out les over that sad replacement duncan they scrounged up after les had had enuff

  • you need to know exactly what was going on before you make this comment. There were things that you have no clue as to what were going on when Les left the band

  • huh ... i said i'd rather a les than a duncan ... i dont need to know more than that ... move on please cuz i'll comment what i want without you telling me other wise

  • @rebelrebel1721 Do you have a lot of friends and relatives who front rock bands, then? If you watch closely you can see that he can't be too 'under' anything, he's keeping perfect time with the music and all the words, his balance, coordination is fine, he's not tripping or staggering... I'm not sure what you're basing this on?

  • @Cheryl1166 And also for the record I'm not saying any of them were angels, I KNOW they used drugs and alcohol. But to me this just looks like Les being Les, not Les being totally out of it. If he and the other guys weren't speaking at the time, that would explain why he's keeping himself planted in the center, instead of being all over the stage, sharing mics w/ the other guys, etc., like he would do in the past.... and okay, I'm shutting up now.

  • @Cheryl1166

How can I tell? Well his movements are extreme and tolally beyond what I noticed on other youtube videos and on television when I was a teenager. It's as if the other Rollers aren't there and he feels he preforming all alone.

I have (sadly) known many people who have and are still abusing drugs and alcohol (some of them very close relatives) and seen some wild unbelievable behavior.

  • they're grow and so talent I like it BCR

    you 're the best

  • There is no saying maybe we could be lovers, wooooohooooo I can't even say what I think...lol...GOTTA LOVE LES!!!

  • Oh my word!!!! Honestly, I'm not sure just how Eric, as hot as he is, doesn't melt our monitors!!!!!

I put this on another youtube video comment , but PLEASE could someone direct me to the videos that have LOTS of close ups of Eric. This is sooo great. I've not seen them in tv concert performances in years and there were sadly few then. So this is like a huge present for me!!! Loving it and thank you so much for all that have shared these videos with us.

  • Some said he looked like Paul McCartney. I disagree, but he had the most beautiful eyes.

  • He looks a bit like Mel Gibson.

  • i would like it woody!!!

  • am i too much of a lady to post what i would really like???:) lonelystreet

  • When it cones to Eric oh hell yes I'd like it. He still is the sexiest man on the face of the planet!!!!!

  • Love this song, so much and yes, Eric, i would like it!!!!

  • Jen, there was a closeup of Woody's fingers at 1:11! lol... I know what you mean, I missed seeing Woody's gorgeous face!

  • This is FABULOUS!! LOVE IT!!!!

  • DAMN RIGHT LES I WOULD LIKE IT!!!

  • to ladeda64 haha that was funny

  • Well I would more than like it but I can't post what I would love!!!!lol

  • YES ERIC I WOULD LIKE IT!

  • BLOODY BRILLIANT STUFF!

  • i think les took something

    before he did this LOL

    owell greatt song !!

  • I agree. Les was the Axel Rose of his time. flailing around like a wounded stork. I loved em anyways.

  • lol yeah, good ole jim morrison impression. sigh

  • I think Les was trying to do his best Mick Jagger impersonation! Love the Rollers no matter what though!

  • thanks for all these awesome videos

    =)

  • Les looks kinda hot in those leather pants the more I watch this :-) I can't get enough Woody though!!!! He's the one I watch every single time in every single BCR video! Love you, Woody!!!!!!

  • the one with the largest ego had the camera on himself most of the time...

  • so true Gina97xls because they are ALL Great!!

  • I love you WOODY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Def Leppard made a hit - Love Bites - using a vocoder, which this clip definitely brings to mind.

Would the "talk box" & the vocoder be the same thing? I definitely remember one TV appearance where Eric actually had the thingie in his mouth.

I'll forgive this clip for being pure lipsync, since they make it work.

  • Peter Frampton made the Talk Box his trade mark. Wrong terminology my mistake. Frampton is one of the best playing/using the Talk Box. You can check it out right here on YouTube. Just type in Frampton and Talk Box.

  • LOVE IT!!!!!!! One of my faves!!

  • Oh yeah, Eric, I would DEFINITELY like it!!! :) Love that opening bit, lip synch and all. Most TV music was synched in the 70s - this is nothing unusual - I think it's sexy as all get out!!

  • Oh this is so wrong! First of all this is definitely not live! They did a Millie Vanillie; you know what I mean though right? Eric doesn't even have the right guitar for this song! Where's the voice box? I do love the song though, but really now! Boy, they aren't kidding love is blind!

  • i'ts a god damn video, vids are about being hot and shit. to:wisteriaran

  • You have a lovely grasp of the English language! You do the band proud standing up and fighting for them! By the way, the reason they don't show Derek all that much is to KEEP the video hot! Now get angry! I was laughing at myself. There was no need to take my comment to heart! It's obvious the lads had poor management and didn't stand up for themselves! The integridty of this "video" is putrid, as is Tam! By the way, Derek was camera shy and requested not to be filmed a lot! Roll On!

  • to wisteriatrain: eric doesn't need to have a special guitar for one song since i know how to play guitar, all guitars make the same noise and chords

  • In this song he uses a voicebox. No where in this video does he even make an attempt to fake it. Gotta love them though. They were so cute and had a great sound. Keep on rollin'

  • The rollers arent the only ones quilty of not singing live, many many bands have done this.

  • it's so blurry you can't see anything

  • Leslie looks liek that kid from ned's declassified school survival guide

  • There no drummer were's derek

  • He's there, they just don't have many shots of him. Major bummer, too!

  • who is saying that thing at 31 and 32 sec, wht is it?

  • I met Leslie back in 77...he wasn't very nice back then. Good to know he's mellowed out over the years.

  • Eric is the most gorgeous looking guy in the entire human history xxx

  • I couldn't agree with you more. He is absolutely gorgeous.

  • Look at those eyes....Dreamy and beyond....

  • Sooooooooooo agree with you, just love him!

  • I know. Perfect or what!?

  • i'M 15 once again (1978) sitting here singing to the song at 44(2007)...Bay City Rollers #1 always!

  • hey

    who is the fifth man

    is that Duncan

  • No. That is Alan.

  • This is great. Les was... and still is .. hot.

  • once a roller fan always a roller fan. so many happy memories.

I met les few years back he was witty charming and a gentleman , would love to meet the others too.

BAY CITY ROLLERS THE ULTIMATE BOYBAND

  • Whoa ... that was a super sexy side of Les that I don't think I've ever seen before. Smokin' !!! Love the Rollers.

  • TANKS ONCE AGAIN bcr57771 YOU SURE GOT SOME GOOD VID'S FOR US. THIS WAS ALWAYS ONE OF MY FAV'S AND WHILE I'M A WOODY GIRL THRU AND THRU LES KNOWS HOW TO MAKE A GIRLS BLOOD BOIL ESPECIALLY IN THIS ONE...SIZZLE. KEEP ON ROLLIN

  • Les had charisma . Once he left the band went downhill. I've met the guy recently . He is a blast and very funny too...

  • Les , reminds me of Bon Scott of AC/DC in this song ! I like it !

  • I don't see the point of holding the lads up against each other. TOGETHER they formed the most interesting group ever.

  • I agree totally, gromg. Each man has a different style, so it is unfair to compare them. ALL of these men made their own contribution to the band's style, and is therefore due credit on his own merit.

  • you need theatrics to make a band, look at most bands lead singers , yes woody and eric wrote some great songs , but they have soft voices and Les performs their songs perfectly.

  • Eric and Woody are VERY TALENTED! they both have gone to do ALOT more music! and i just adore them!<3<3<3 just amazing men!:-)

  • for all Les's theatrics, it was and still is Eric, Woody and Alan that MAKE the group. Truly 3 gifted, genius musicians. Perhaps they would have been taken more seriously if they had axed Les sooner? No matter, this is a fab vid, thanks for posting.

  • Hi, that's an interesting comment you make. I like hearing other's opinions. You could be right but after following Eric's career all these years, I have to think at least HE is a VERY talented musician. Maybe they're not 'gifted', but some of them have what I believe is extreme talent on multiple instruments. Thanks for responding.
