Leslie, soooo fit, hot and sexy. I agree with everything Cheryl1166 says. Somehow I don't think Leslie performing the song the same way he does in the earlier vids would quite fit the words to this song.........LOL!!! They grew up and moved on. Oooohhhh go Leslie, and YES I LOVE LOVE LOVE the lace up leather pants.......OMGGGGGGG!!!! Whew, getting soooooooo hot in here......
LMAO!!! At 1:22, he starts to push the envelope, but quickly changes his mind. Damn shame he did'ent go with the moves he was thinking of making at that point (:
Why yes i would. I think the man is sexy as hell!!! Theatrics or not. Personally i think his actions are in tune with the words to song if you think about it.
If I remember correctly, (and possibly I don't at this point) Les had already left the band by the time that this footage was recorded, and had been sorta forced back to do it due to contractual obligations and threats of lawsuits.... I don't think he and the others were even speaking at this time, if what I heard was correct. SAD.
THAT SAID: Leslie always did know how to wear that pair of lace-up leather pants...DEAR GOD.
And yes, Eric, I believe I would. (Like it, that is)
I totally agree with you sisters, mckeowzy and rgjd44 !! To anyone who doesn't know this IS Les!He's performs here like he always wanted to be and shows the Les he really IS ! Thank God for that... I loved and still do love the BCR as they were part of my youth...but to be honest I llove this even more because they could be " themselves" here and in the nrs. they played in these years! It took long enough, keeping them in "Jackets" and play like puppets on a string...THIS must been a relief !
I have no idea why people assume Leslie is tripped out here...........he was in a hard rock cover band BEFORE the Rollers. He took on the clean cut image of BCR because he was expected to. This is just Leslie enjoying himself.
I don't think Leslie was really tripping out on anything at this point. They couldn't stay in tartan clothes forever. They had to move on at some stage as it shows in the change of style of music. They couldn't really sing this song in their tartan gear could they??? I don't think so......Leslie was always energetic and oh so sexy....They had to move on.....they wanted to grow up but unfortunately the industry wouldn't let them.....
I think they were just sick of their squeaky clean image and wanted to try something new. Their fans were adolescent girls and maybe they were seeking a more mature fan base.
I've seen this behavior before (from friends and relatives) and I know that Leslie is definitely "under the influence" of something. I like all the BCR videos here on Youtube but I find this one to be the most disturbing. It really saddens me to see Leslie in this condition.
this looks like its from their L.A. days ... so im thinking they were all trippin on something at this point ... as for les ... i'd rather an energetic tripped out les over that sad replacement duncan they scrounged up after les had had enuff
you need to know exactly what was going on before you make this comment. There were things that you have no clue as to what were going on when Les left the band
huh ... i said i'd rather a les than a duncan ... i dont need to know more than that ... move on please cuz i'll comment what i want without you telling me other wise
@rebelrebel1721 Do you have a lot of friends and relatives who front rock bands, then? If you watch closely you can see that he can't be too 'under' anything, he's keeping perfect time with the music and all the words, his balance, coordination is fine, he's not tripping or staggering... I'm not sure what you're basing this on?
@Cheryl1166 And also for the record I'm not saying any of them were angels, I KNOW they used drugs and alcohol. But to me this just looks like Les being Les, not Les being totally out of it. If he and the other guys weren't speaking at the time, that would explain why he's keeping himself planted in the center, instead of being all over the stage, sharing mics w/ the other guys, etc., like he would do in the past.... and okay, I'm shutting up now.
How can I tell? Well his movements are extreme and tolally beyond what I noticed on other youtube videos and on television when I was a teenager. It's as if the other Rollers aren't there and he feels he preforming all alone.
I have (sadly) known many people who have and are still abusing drugs and alcohol (some of them very close relatives) and seen some wild unbelievable behavior.
Oh my word!!!! Honestly, I'm not sure just how Eric, as hot as he is, doesn't melt our monitors!!!!!
I put this on another youtube video comment , but PLEASE could someone direct me to the videos that have LOTS of close ups of Eric. This is sooo great. I've not seen them in tv concert performances in years and there were sadly few then. So this is like a huge present for me!!! Loving it and thank you so much for all that have shared these videos with us.
Les looks kinda hot in those leather pants the more I watch this :-) I can't get enough Woody though!!!! He's the one I watch every single time in every single BCR video! Love you, Woody!!!!!!
Peter Frampton made the Talk Box his trade mark. Wrong terminology my mistake. Frampton is one of the best playing/using the Talk Box. You can check it out right here on YouTube. Just type in Frampton and Talk Box.
Oh yeah, Eric, I would DEFINITELY like it!!! :) Love that opening bit, lip synch and all. Most TV music was synched in the 70s - this is nothing unusual - I think it's sexy as all get out!!
Oh this is so wrong! First of all this is definitely not live! They did a Millie Vanillie; you know what I mean though right? Eric doesn't even have the right guitar for this song! Where's the voice box? I do love the song though, but really now! Boy, they aren't kidding love is blind!
You have a lovely grasp of the English language! You do the band proud standing up and fighting for them! By the way, the reason they don't show Derek all that much is to KEEP the video hot! Now get angry! I was laughing at myself. There was no need to take my comment to heart! It's obvious the lads had poor management and didn't stand up for themselves! The integridty of this "video" is putrid, as is Tam! By the way, Derek was camera shy and requested not to be filmed a lot! Roll On!
In this song he uses a voicebox. No where in this video does he even make an attempt to fake it. Gotta love them though. They were so cute and had a great sound. Keep on rollin'
TANKS ONCE AGAIN bcr57771 YOU SURE GOT SOME GOOD VID'S FOR US. THIS WAS ALWAYS ONE OF MY FAV'S AND WHILE I'M A WOODY GIRL THRU AND THRU LES KNOWS HOW TO MAKE A GIRLS BLOOD BOIL ESPECIALLY IN THIS ONE...SIZZLE. KEEP ON ROLLIN
I agree totally, gromg. Each man has a different style, so it is unfair to compare them. ALL of these men made their own contribution to the band's style, and is therefore due credit on his own merit.

Def Leppard made a hit - Love Bites - using a vocoder, which this clip definitely brings to mind.
Would the "talk box" & the vocoder be the same thing? I definitely remember one TV appearance where Eric actually had the thingie in his mouth.
I'll forgive this clip for being pure lipsync, since they make it work.
