  • John is a class act. Much respect.

  • i feel sorry for this guys hes such a good musician very talented yet so underated hell even jimmy and planty were neglectful to him in the later days of zeppelin. glad he is still doin stuff, them crooked vultures are awsome :)

  • u nubs need to get your facts before commenting on led zeppelin. LEd ZEP WAS done because of bonham's death. Thats also one of the toughest era for jimmy page's drinking problem. They weren't gonna make music and label it led zeppelin coz bonham was gone.

  • What a rude guy he seems to be....Who do he think he is? David Coverdale??

  • This guy was in fucking Led Zeppelin!

  • my friends dad got to see him in this tiny club.... lucky bastard

  • "Their respective bands will call them back eventually..."

Does that include you, Jonesy? Led Zep reunion, perhaps? Yeaaaaaaahhhh no. Because Robert Plant is a jerk.

  • @DarthKrattus Actually no, it's Jimmy Page.

  • @NightmareSnake Actually, in an interview regarding Glastonbury, Jimmy Page said he's open to it. Plant, however, said that his time with Zeppelin is over.

  • @DarthKrattus Well, maybe. I'm not really sure. My knowledge was always that i was a mutual decision to call it quits after John Bonham's death.

  • One of the more difficults questions in the world: "Which instruments doesn't JPJ play?" 'cause serious he's a orchestra!

  • Always a english gentleman. God bless JPJ.

  • Jonesy is my favorite Zeppelin member, he is my bass idol

  • Hell Yeah!!!

  • i know this is a really dumb thing to say, but he sounds surprisingly british. i mean, mode than i expected

  • good interview

  • Holy Crap a JPJ interview. This is like a gift from the gods

  • Them Crooked Vultures---is that a reference to 70s Zep critics?

  • @vincevega0 no they were going for a name that meant nothing. They wanted to name them selves caligula but it was already taken

  • John Paul Jones is a bass legend with the greatest style

  • JPJ is my favorite Zep member

  • okay, I'm not typically the kind of person to think older people are cute, but JPJ is just adorable!! probably because he's such a humble genius, and he ROCKS!!!!!

  • john paul jones was in austin,? holy shit he was about 50 miles away from me, thats pretty cool,

  • Would love to meet all these guys in Them Crooked Vultures...Seem genuine and excited to their craft and have a great time making music...New album is excellent.

  • Legend

  • i mean imagine all of us wearing Led zepplin tshirts, drawing led zepp logos in our books when we were kids.... this guy gets to say ... Oh yeah I was in Led Zeppelin !!! FUCK ! If i was in Ledzeppelin i'd have a mad ego. And then look at JPJ ...he's so humble, modest and talks like a pro...coool fucking guy. Awesome Band with those two other geniuses

  • yep I would just walk around waiting for the chance to blurt it out . A passing car is playing ' black dog " , I stop them and say ' hey I wrote that ! " DIG ME

  • Same thing goes for Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, most humble guys ive ever seen in an interview, their just in it for the music and are all basically just nice, musically talented genious', and the fact the JPJ hooked up with two of the best musicians of today simply makes Them Crooked Vultures unreal.

  • @aqueel82 So true just look at every concert Zeppelin ever had always in the back rocking out on the bass.

  • lol naa on that clip he is cant call him borein be like callin god boring lol

  • he was at his best wen he was with led zeppelin but hes a great musician

  • 3 legends 1 band. just awesome.

haha i dont find him boring, hes a legend i just love hearing what he has to say. granted he is the most boring of legends though lol

  • Is he 64 years old?

    Just watched SNL.

Was he playing?? Didn't see him.

  • Yeah he was there. His hair was a lot shorter than it used to be so he could have been easily missed.

  • He was playing on SNL

  • Damn! I been waitin forever for sum1 to ask em that question! 2:40

I hope they stay together for a while.

  • lol a bit the band do rock just reminds me of qotsa so its all good lol

  • "we're still a young band...hoping to go places" hahaha

  • jeeves

  • borein, huh ?

  • ashashash123456789, did you just call JPJ, of Led Zeppelin, boring? Oh dear.... :)

  • hes not boring...hes just british

  • ur my hero :)

  • jpj is the man! one of the greatest muscisins the world will ever see he was more the greatest bass player ever hell he was the greatest keyboard player ever

  • i agree, very cool guy, but one hell of a musician

  • LOL, "were a young band hoping to make it"

  • I frigging love JPJ!! I would give anything to shoot the shit with him!

He is the reason i started bass. My only wish is to see Zeppelin (with Jayson) i was completely born in the wrong year! The Universe is an epic failure :P

  • He has such a sweet, quiet demeanor, He seems lovely to talk to. Love all of them. Peroid.

  • One of the greatest musicians to ever walk the earth! Jonesy rules

Every Led Zeppelin fan should check his solo albums out, "Zooma" and "The Thunderthief", they're fucking brilliant. Actually anyone with functioning ears should check it out. JPJ is the man!

  • Yeah I agree they're both solid albums with some epic riffage!

  • JPJ .. a true walkin talkin legend.

Saw TCV last night in Brum and they blew the roof off the place.

  • 05] QOTSA - I Think I Lost My Headache (From The Basement) *16:9 Version*

    fabulous ,genius guitars and drums.....

why joshua and queens of the stone age.. pure rock n´roll .Best band last 30 years.

  • i believe dave was in the best band since Zeppelin, and that was Nirvana

  • its all Dave's fault.

  • fottuto genio..... uno dei più grandi musicisti del nostro secolo,...

  • His calm voice just makes me want to hug him

  • John is a total legend.

  • I'm not sure that the interviewer knows what Led Zeppelin is. lol

  • JONESY RULES!!! I love this. i'm so excited about this trio!

  • Absolute legend. What a fantastic collaboration. Rockers unite!

  • I feel sorry for punk kids actually that they don't enjoy well played music.

  • John paul jones u are the man!

  • i went through a pretty serious zeppelin phase and i'm as big a queens fans as they come. i bought the album without listening to it. it really does sound like a synthesis of jones grohl and homme. as good as rock and roll comes. i fuckin loved it.

  • seems like such a cool guy

  • This is terrible interview.

Do people care what label it's coming out on? Of course he is excited about playing the songs live and of course it's blues based.

I'm sorry but come on dude. You're interviewing someone from Led Zeppelin, come correct.

  • agreed!

  • i agree. but at least he asked one important question - is it going to be ongoing or is this the one album? pretty cool i thought nonetheless :D

  • Actually a lot of people will care about the record label. Not WHAT record label, that wasn't what the guy asked, but whether it would be a major record label or independent. The answer would give an indication on how it might get released and how fans could get their hands on it.

  • I love the new disc!.Them Kool Keyster Vultures rock pretty fucking sweet!

  • I saw these guys at the Roxy on Monday. Huge Zeppelin fan and I got to stand 10 feet away from John and Dave and Josh with a Jack & Coke in Hand. Doesnt get much better. Awesome show. CROOKED!!

  • "it'll be everywhere soon" haha

  • I seriously Digg this band

  • He might be the most English man in the world. Could listen to him speak all day

  • yeah jpj has definately aged the best out of zeppelin, they all look like shit apart from him... oh and bonham, he hasnt aged one bit.

  • is that a joke? haha, i mean the bonham part...

  • wow he looks amzeing for like what 60-70-90? 0.0

  • That's what happens when you're 'the clean one' from a rock band lol

  • it probably was not hard to seem like the "clean " one compared to Jimmy Page or Bonham when they were in their prime.

  • Absolutely fantastic. He is my hero John Paul Jones. He would be invited to a jam at mine. haha. He is one of the best musicians in the world. I want his 1962 fender jazz that he has. Keep on rockin john.

  • unbelievable band, the vultures are. i gotta see them.

  • Imagine chuck norris vs JPJ...

It would be a beatdown until JPJ gets his hands on an instrument.

"OH GOD HE'S GOT A TWIG!"

    *makes a string*

    *blows Chuck's head off*

  • @matenizer John Paul Jones' Bass Guitar he used in Led Zeppelin would crush Chuck Norris' Kick XDD

  • god damn, he could be my grampa... I WISH HE WAS!!!

  • best band nowadays

  • hes like an old cosy grandpa untill u give him a instrument and hes a fucking music genious, heavy metal machine thing.

  • 63 yrs old and rockin out like that, what a fuckin dude!

  • as Dave would say ..... there goes my hero

  • john Paul Jones es un genio.

  • JPJ speaks!!

  • he's pretty charming...thanks for posting this!

  • Them Crooked Vultures are fucking splendid!

  • their albums out next week

  • JPJ is God

  • Actually, Jimmy Page is God, but JPJ is a familial titan who I doubt God himself would mess with.

  • in my opinion i put jpj a notch above page. now let the rebukes flow!

  • i want the album to come out soon!!!!!

  • amazing.. thanks for posting

  • this band is going to be EPIC!!!

  • fuck yeah!
