I saw one of these Custom Shop '51 NOS Nocasters with a large "C" shap neck instead of the "U" shape neck shown here. I'm guessing a few were made with the "C" necks.
Looked like at the end you turned back the tone or volume and didn't flip the switch for the mellower neck bridge blend. Sounds basically the same though.
how versatile would you say these Abigail Hand Wound Pickups are compared to a twisted tele and hot nocaster combo? im trying to decide between one of these and a custom deluxe telecaster. Thank you, and great review as always.
okay-i'm a metal head at heart-but man-this thing just soounds great!-i have two tele's(never play em-they sound to twangy) but this one sounds so warm and fat feeling-really great! props fender

It must be mentioned that although they were soon to be called Telecasters, in the origin (1959) the name was to be "Broadcaster", but Fender had to change it because of copyright issues with the company Gretsch, that sold a drum set with the name in those days. Being the TV the latest phenomenon in the 50s, Fender decided to name his creation after it, and thus the Broadcaster was to be called Telecaster ever since.
@mattlittler89 Tele's and Strats? Yes I have. My friend had a white (I think. I'm not good with specific colors) vintage Telecaster. And i played a Strat at Sam Ash. Like I said, i like the way they sound. The style just isn't for me
the nocaster was before the tele, what happened was in the early 50s fender relesed the Fender broadcaster but a drum company already had rights to the name so they took off the broadcaster and just had it say fender
the telecaster was originally called the broadcaster. There was another instrument called the broadcaster and that company sued fender. so in 1951 fender released the broadcaster with no name on the headstock. It was a plain fender decal and thats it. in 1952 they called it the telecaster officially. So they refer to that year with no name for the guitar the nocaster. Because the guitar had no name.
What was the jazz song he played.

If I'm not mistaken the muted neck pickup setting isn't caused by the pickup itself but by tone knob and capacitors right?
If I'm wrong feel free to correct me.

bends the neck, has the effect of a whammy bar kinda but can damage the guitar
Richee91 2 years ago
no it doesn't I have a guitar that i got years and years ago, I use that technique frequently and it hasn't had any negative effects
hebijebi03 2 years ago
He doesn't bend the neck. That's a behind-the-nut bend. It's not like a whammy bar at all. It's like a Parsons B- or G-bender.
