Great Video, Just think 55000 hight quality 1911A1, Jam free 1911, Wilson makes the barrel for the US&S 1911A1, Best ammo for this 230G FMG, Or 180 JHP Black Hills Red Box, Perfect Info the the US&S. Thank You.
Doesn't surprise me that these are the best of the 1911's, RR equipment manufacturers make their equipment to survive the test of time. I sold my 1911's, should have kept my US&S, only reason I bought was because I was a locomotive engineer and I wanted it for the RR connection, but I wanted to focus on one certain kind of collecting, which is German Mauser K98K's. Great video, thanks for sharing, your quite knowledgeable.
I know this takes a lot of research to put these high quality videos up. We greatly appreciate it and the wonderful history of these beautiful weapons. Great job as always.
I saw a US&S 1911 at a gun show years ago. I don't remember exactly how much the vendor was asking for it, but I do remember that it was under $1000. This must have been about 17 years ago or so.
Fascinating as always.I continue to be in awe of your wealth of knowledge of the 1911's.It is unreal how many different companies changed and retooled to start production of weapons and ammunition.Thank you Sir.
Ok...MrColt45acp...you are the unofficial youtube MASTER of 1911's...Nobody i've seen has come CLOSE to delivering this kind of history on this great series of pistols....Thank you sir!
I watch these videos and constantly tell myself... "I didn't know that!".
It seems odd that with all the various manufactures building these pistols, that they didn't have the factories just make certain components and then assemble the various parts from other plants into one gun. I'm sure they'd meet the interchangability requirements still, or even exceed them. It would have eliminated the "lunchbox specials" if a plant only made one or two actual components too.
@Lvl22nerd Now that I think about it, there were some plants during WW2 that were temporarily shut down due to striking workers. If they distributed the manufacturing process all it would take would be one plant striking to shut down all productions.
