This is a great tutorial and this farm works very well, but I can't get more than 5 skeletons to stack following these instructions. I added a canal at the collection point that moves them another (5,-2,8) blocks away and they stack like crazy - BUT skeletons will don't seem to lose any health if they land on top of a large group of other skeletons so I have to throw many more punches. It's worth it, though - I just built a big wheat farm right over the skeleton farm. :D

@PressStartJerk u have to make sure they are stacked up at least 8 blocks away from the spawner or else it wont spawn anymore. make a channel move them like 10 blocks away from the spawner and it will just keep spawning them

ive built it to exact on 1.1 and not alot are coming through i have to go back to the beggining of it, the starting point was y=45 ad after y=23

@lmxTricky That's why you should just go AFK and throw a Potion of Healing at them when you come back after 30 or 40 minutes.

for zombies u have to hit them twince or i use a stone sword cause there easy to make ty for the tutorial i was searching ages for a good one although it was dark at some point :)

awesome tutorial, this thing works like a champ. Thanks dude! Just one tip - try to keep it well lit with torches while you are doing it, as the darks get washed out on youtube, and it is impossible to see what you are doing at a few points. Excellet tutorial though, thanks so much!

I recently started having a problem where less skeletons are spawning, it just happened randomly, and that they are shooting each other once they spawn so some of them die once they drop into the holding arena

TO EVERYONE GETTING SHOT! I've found 2 solutions

1) Use a/two piston(s) in the landing area. Keep the pistons on when there's skeletons, you can hit the through a little space between the piston and the piston head. Then turn the piston off so you can get your XP.

2 (The best one) ) Use fence in the top

awesome, just one thing: you get the optimal position of the spawning chamber (which should be 8x8x3+1water) by checking that you have in the diagonal direction of the spawner which faces where x and z coordinates get smaller 4 blocks free, and in the opposite side 3. (not 3 in each one like you have) its hard for me to explain because i dont speak english so well, but check etho's videos on this. the spawner must be a bit off centered, at least thats how things used to be ;)

To all of you that have problems so you can't hit mobs in legs:

Make some Splash Healing Potions and wait for zombies to gather and than when there is alot of them just throw potion (in their legs) and they should all die instantly...

To anybody doing this, try not to dig straight down when you are diging out 23.. just make a side barrier to stand on, you never know when you will fall in lava and have to go get new diamond tools ._.

@CODMW2CAMPER if you are playing multiplayer you cannot punch them only with arrows, you can only punch them on single player unfortunatley, either have somewhere high to snipe them or from a distance.

@CODMW2CAMPER can you not just do what i did, I did piston/glowstone lights, when i use it i turn them off, and once i finish i turn them back on so nothing will spawn. I agree it can get a bit laggy for some, but with lights it should be fine no?
