Killington Vermont Hurricane Irene Ravine Road

Escaped yesterday morning out Rt 4 on the temporary fix. The road has a lot of damage pretty much all the way to Woodstock. It's blocked off at the entrance to Woodstock, before the Farmer's Market, which flooded. You have to go up over the hill.

Parts of the road would probably not hold up under heavy vehicles traffic.

That spot was right down the hill from us. Pretty impressive gap.

East Mtn is a hazardous run. Much of it is washed out or undermined, leaving a scant car width to get thru. If you got thru you'd only get as far as Bridgewater after an equally hazardous trip. Rt 4 has lanewidth washouts and serious undermining. Houses and cars have been swept away & can be seen partially submerged in the muck/water. W of the Killington Rd. Rt 4 has massive washouts and undermining from Pico to the "Sugar & Spice" restaurant. Rt 100N is closed as is Rt 100 & 100A south.
