"wake up in the morning with some twigs" LMBO thats awesome. question for you, hope you will help. So I died my hair with a permanent a month ago. I had virgin black hair..and i only bought one box...needless to say i ran out and its a bit blotchy. I want to get the hair all one color which means I may have to go over the ALREADY dyed hair...any suggestions? Love ur vids ma!
OMG(osh)!!! I have finally found someone with just about the same curl pattern :) I'm so excited and will most def be subscribing to your youtube channel :)
I permently color my hair red but not as bright as yours and I use a clear gloss to keep it from fading and keeping the shine, I do deep condition with a home made mask with avacado, evoo, egg and lavender for scent weekly and it works w/dc heat cap. My MBL is doing great and I am wearing my hatr straight for the cold months. I also purchase 100% aragan oil for the hair, JBCO for the scalp and Kimmytube leave-in for flat ironing (Maxiglide XP) on my hair. My hair loves it!!!!!
Thank you soooo much for this imformative video. I just had a professional color my hair and I was not happy with the service or the answers to my questions on how to care for my hair afterward. I will definitely try these products and tips! God bless!
you're so right at the end of the video, also in the Netherlands there isn't much info about this. I'm having a hair growth challenge for coloured treated hair too but especially for dutch youtubers. Thanks again for this video!
I just colored my hair around the same color u have. I love it but my roots are still black. I would like to apologize if u have already answered this question. I watch your tutorial on coloring and it looked like you were rubbing the permanent color into your scalp. Does that stain your scalp at all? By the way, your hair is beautiful!!!!
I am a colored treated natural and I love it!! It's been 1 month since I had my hair colored and will be 2 months on the 20th that i have been fully natural. I get so many complements on my hair. My hair color is a reddish-blond color.
you mentioned that the hair should be clean before coloring with semi color, Does this mean that I can color it a few hours after i wash my hair? I usually wash my hair daily, but i was going to skip a few days of washing it to apply the color....
@TheNaturalStLgal I just dyed tha front half of my hair it was pose 2b cherrywood but it looks different from tha box im goin 2 put a rinse on it tho i wanted it more of a burgundy color so texture tones is ok @electricred i couldn't c tha products my video kept choppin up like screw music lol
I just colored my Hair n the color is not 2 my liking that i wanted. how long before i can put a rinse on my hair???also what were The products u recommended cause my mobile yt was messin up sorry?
@MsYellaBoneStar I would wait at LEAST two weeks. The products I recommend, can be purchased at Sally's Beauty Supply, but you should be able to get them from any local beauty supply.
Thank you so much for this video!!! You have given me so much information in 5:51 about the before and after care of coloring your hair girl I have been looking for somebody on youtube with some info on natural hair and color and you basically is the only one with so much INFORMATION!!! EXCELLENT VIDEO!!! Thanks Sis:)
Bravo! Just colored my growing bc and have been getting mixed reviews about totally being natural with color. I like versatility myself and will continue to try to stand out on this natural journey. Thanks for your tips and I will get the courage to come and do my own journey video. Great Job!
Helpful video. Although we're different hair types you're my hair inspiration now. 1 reason is because I'm ready to go back to having a different color in my hair. I was coloring my hair in HS up until college (4-5yrs). I think I have the patience/time to take better care of my hair now. Also, I don't see many natural hair women that color their hair. I like how you're retaining your length & I can see your hair has grown. I'm fairly new to your channel so, I need to check out ur videos :)
love your video. Im about to color my natural hair. the last time I did it made my hair straight so this time Im not going to run the color to the tips tell almost time to wash out...
OMG!! you just got another subscriber!! I love your accent and i just wanna thank you sooo much for showing that you CAN fully ENJOY natural hair... AND still be healthy. I get so frustrated watching some other natural ladies turning the clock back to dinosaur ages with their frumpy hair!! I love color and versatility! Go head Hun!!
i like ur personality not to mention i'm glad to see some other color treated nats on yt...and kudos to you for helping others..when i started this journey i didn't see many colored heads and still i rarely see colored heads so to find your site was refreshing keep doin what ur doing gb.
I am so happy I found your channel. I am working on getting my natural hair healthy enough to color treat it. I am comtemplating having the color applied in a couple of weeks. I was very nervous about the process, but you have given me the confidence I need. I will continue to watch your progress and tips on how to care for color treated natural hair. Much Love!
I really loved that fresh burgundy type color when you had just first dyed your hair red it seemed. What brand and color did you use as your permanent?
Hell Miss Vivalacious, I'm new to your channel, just subscribed, I Love your hair and your color is awsome. I'm having problems with greying and henna only last about two weeks on my hair before grey shows up again. What product line can you suggest that works on stubborn grey? I'm going to continue to get caught up on your older videos. In the past I've often use different permanent colors in box kits, but never used developers or highlighters so the mixing and the numbers are all new to me.
@nikkieblue Hi, Nikkie! First, I would like to say, thank you for the support! Well, Clairol has a great line for greys, and there is a line at Sally's Beauty that has a line called "Age Beautiful". Those color brands are great for stubborn greys. I recently used the age beautiful in my mom's hair, and her hair held the color for a great while. HTH!
@vivalacious well i think the color i liked in the video was the color you said you ended up with after the blonde color faded (the color you had after you big chopped). It was a pretty brown color. Ima try and see if I can find a similar color in the store though.
@TheNaturalSTLgal Ohhh okay. Yeah, I've got asked a couple of times about that color. It looks like some type of red brown, or something along those lines.
@vivalacious Idk I wanna give it another shot but my ma is like NOOOOO did you not learn ur lesson the first time..im like but ma look at HER hair i can learn from her lol...if i do it i want that darker brown color you had when your hair was neck length. it was really really pretty. even my ma was saying she ma recolor hers to that color. omg i wanna go buy the color right now lol...i think ima try and find the color in texture n tones. i heard they were good for natural hair.
i just discovered your page this morning. I love your channel n ur vids! It's nice to see someone with natural HEALTHY color treated hair...i just did a 2nd big chop bc UNLIKE YOU i did not know how to take care of mine. no matter how much i deep conditioned my hair still was so damaged that i lost my curl pattern. After seeing this I really wanna go color it again lol...but im just too afraid be of how much i just cut off after only 9 months of growth...idk you got me thinkin now lol :)
I love your videos and I am very happy to see someone who is natural who has healthy color treated hair. I did my big few months ago and have been doing my best to keep my hair healthy and I really wanna give color a try. I think you are right that with the right nuture and care natural color treated hair can grow strong and healthy. I was also curious about what you thought of natural hair that has been color treated with bleach? Is it possible to have bleached color treated natural hair?
@Vivalacious Thanks, I have dyed my hair honey blonde in the past and had it bleached years ago. I was considering trying this loreal bleach blonde kit, but I think Im going to do some strand tests will some of my hair I just trimmed off yesterday. I really hope this works because I would like to see if i can keep my natural hair bleached healthy. I think my problem in the past was that I didnt know much about hair that I do now and I truly treasure my crown and glory.
I am so grateful for this video! I really need help with my hair. I let a friend color my hair in February and have been having issues since then. Its dry n my curl pattern is totally different. So now I'm on a journey to grow it out again. I live in Georgia so the heat and humidity haven't helped. Do u have any suggestions?
Love the info and tips you put forth. I'm color treated and recently added highlights and appreciate you making this video. By the way your hair is beautiful!!! I've only been on this journey since Dec then 2nd chop Feb. Seeing your hair is so motivating. I can't wait until mine grows some more. Thanks!!!
@15janisha Yes. They recommend that you do that. But, PLEASE take caution. Since you are already relaxed, they usually don't recommend anything higher than a 20 developer. So, bleaching is a serious step. Just be careful, mama. I would recommend you get a hair consultation before hand. Have a professional chemical specialist do it for you. Thank you so much for makng this video bc i jus dyed my hair honey blonde yesterday&as u said there r'nt many videos geared toward naturals w color treated hair. i was wondering where u got ur prodcts from. im currently n search 4soum products tht will help keep/give me moister.&jus sumthing ive run across is the conditioner color me happy by herbal essences is excellent it left my hair sof.&can u recommand a cream based product i cn jus run thru my hair for moister as im styling?thanks again!:)
I just believe it all depends on your hair routine..I dont play w my hair..I moisturize every single morning and night even If I leave my style for the next day or two and I wash/deep condition 2x or once a week no less. My hair loves water and I already have deep conditioners/moisturizers that makes it uber soft so am not worried about the dryness from the sulfate shampoos
I also just color treated my hair for the first time in feb with a permanent jet black...then 3 months later decided I wanted a red so i did a permanent red dye myself which looks nice but I do miss my jet black on me. BUT what I mean to say is that my hair has not damaged and has actually gotten healthier since I put in the red last month my hair sheds MUCH MUCH less, very little bit of hair comes out when I detangle if any and I, along with fam/friends, see more length
@fulanigoldnbeauty I feel the same way. My hair actually, dare I say it, feels better after SOME colors, because now they have these dyes with conditioning agents in them.
Thank you for this video. I am color treated and have had breakage at the front of my hair. U are fabulous and u enjoy ur channel. Keep up the great work ;)
thank you for your very informative video. i have a question for you. i colored my hair 2 weeks ago with loreal hi color permanent color and my roots came out lighter than the rest of my hair. How long do i have to wait before coloring my hair again to match the rest of my hair to my roots. And should i use a semi- perm color. Im trying to get all my hair one color.
@ajenine692003 Well, if you've waited two weeks, you should be okay with recoloring now. If you're trying to get your hair to match your roots, you will have to use another permanent color if you're trying to go lighter. Unless you decide to actually go a little darker, than use a semi-permanent.
Wonderful advice on coloring hair. You are right--as far as I know, there are not a lot of video on coloring natural hair. My hair looks best colored and I have been guilty of putting permanent color over permanent, but I won't be doing this anymore. Thank you. Great moisturing tips also--
i looooove love love that red! a few years back i went to a salon to get my bangs that color and the stylist turned her nose up and said i would be walking around looking like a fire truck >_>...sooo she talked me out of it and when i got home i regretted it

thank you for your very informative video. i have a question for you. i colored my hair 2 weeks ago with loreal hi color permanent color and my roots came out lighter than the rest of my hair. How long do i have to wait before coloring my hair again to match the rest of my hair to my roots. And should i use a semi- perm color. Im trying to get all my hair one color.
ajenine692003 1 year ago
@ajenine692003 Well, if you've waited two weeks, you should be okay with recoloring now. If you're trying to get your hair to match your roots, you will have to use another permanent color if you're trying to go lighter. Unless you decide to actually go a little darker, than use a semi-permanent.

Wonderful advice on coloring hair. You are right--as far as I know, there are not a lot of video on coloring natural hair. My hair looks best colored and I have been guilty of putting permanent color over permanent, but I won't be doing this anymore. Thank you. Great moisturing tips also--
