There is only one way into heaven like there is only one key to a lock. We didn't make the rules. Instead we where created to follow the creators rules. Sin must be punished. All sin has been paid for by Jesus/god so to ignore that price being paid and giving thanks to the one who paid it is like saying no thank you, i'd rather try to do the impossible on my own.
The "Bible" is a compilation of writings of two opposing faiths; a faith in one incorporeal God and another faith in one corporeal person and two incorporeal person that are one God.
According to The Bible, however, we have been condemned by the sin that we have been born into by the actions of unknown and unknowable ancestors. Any system of law which would be recognized as a just system of law today would consider the idea of newborns being judged for actions committed by others as the ultimate miscarriage of justice. That is perhaps the biggest problem with Christianity, and The Bible is very explicit about this. Infants who die in childberth go to Hell.
"I believe its intolerant because the bible can be interpreted in so many ways".
According to Genesis 40:8, interpretations belong to God. It is His interpretations that matter, not the imperfect interpretations of man.
I have explained this in more detail in an article that I wrote on my site titled "Philosophy vs. Christ". Those who are interested can find a link to my site in my profile.
The problem with that theory is that God has been delivering a "no comment" on the collective work commonly referred to as The Bible. The only ones who have been making commentary on the works are other humans, generally humans that have one particular agenda or another. Is it surprising that a work as large and open to interpretation as The Bible is could be interpreted in both intolerant and tolerant ways, and have them both be legitimate interpretations? Of course not.
God's expectations of holiness are IMPOSSIBLE for man without Yeshua (Jesus). This is why Christianity is so intolerant to those who are without God. Mankind stands condemned and MUST understand the need for salvation through Yeshua messiah. Believing in Yeshua as savior and repenting of your sinful life is the only way to escape this...
I believe its intolerant because the bible can be interpreted in so many ways. You can get any religion to mean what you want it to mean if you redefine its words enough.
By the way, Christianity is not a religion, but a relationship with God. Those who truly have such a relationship will understand what I have already explained here.
Christianity is a religion. In fact, it several different religions. We know it's a religion because its aspects meet the definition of the word "religion". If the aspects of Christianity did not meet the definition of that term then you would have a case, but as it stands your argument is invalid simply by definition of terms.
