he is breathtaking alright! but he has an amazing band of musicians enabling him to shine, they all shine. Its so good to experience them via you tube doing the interpretations of these songs. I love how they have brought intimacy blues, bluegrass together to create such magic. Thankyou so much for sharing this, please come to New Zealand! Robert Plant has the best voice ever. Absolutely. He is an inspiration. They are appreciating each other and having fun, what a thrill :):):)
This shouldn't really surprise anyone. Knowing that Plant and the other members of Led Zeppelin are grounded in both the blues AND American country music. Plant has said many times in interviews that he admires country music an when he was with Zeppelin he strove to incorporate elements of country music. Jimmy Page incorporated pedal steel guitar on several tracks, and the country influence can be found in songs like Down by the Seaside and Hot Dog.
Awesome. The Black Country meets bluegrass. I remember how thrilled I as to see Plant play this on the Now and Zen tour about ten feet away from me. Awesome.
In response to 'zepsbest'...(who posted 2 months ago) uh, these guys won 5 Grammys last night, and this is great musicianship. As a guitarist, I can tell you Page is known for being sloppy, aside from plaigerist problems, and despite being a great fan myself, insofar as this band is concerned the musicianship for the type of music they are playing is not just excellent, but 5 star. I don't think these guys need to go to a fictional school of rock in a movie, they're in the real thing.
I was hoping you got the guy screaming "Robert, you're the man!" lol! This is great to have these to watch and listen to because I was on a real let down thinking I'd never hear them do these songs again. THANKS!
