You can play renaissance guitar music as it is on the uke (sometimes it souds better with low G, but often ok with high G). I played some of this music on my "Ukeval" channel...

Both instruments Vihuela and renaissance guitar, and of course lutes, were very popular.
I plan to have a vihuela in the colse future... ;-)
