  • used the exact poppers before with big 11/0 singles on the back. it holds them well but does a bit of damage to the fish got some big barracuda off the beach and even a tarpon, plenty of big gt hits as well. I find that the wood can be a bit soft and those cuda teeth get embeded in them.

  • Worth upgrading to single hooks, will be using alot more singles in future. Some good toothmarks on this popper just from Giant Trevally, So Barracuda will also do some damage,

    Cheers Greg

  • Awsome, I make those plugs custom, they work great!

  • Giant trevally love them poppers, good luck with our plugs

    Cheers Greg

  • bit worse for wear...bit of an understatement id say Greg:P

Just goes to show the power and ferosity these XOS GTs have.

    Cheers for the vid mate.

  • They copped a hammering alright. That's some of the poppers we got to keep, Got a nice flowery cod on a popper the other day, so that video coming soon,

    Cheers Greg

  • yer its good up there i got a 91cm barra it was 11kg in the ross river hear in townsville their great fish to catch =)

  • man must have been big travale iv only eva caught queen fish on popers lol and it wasnt really fishing. we were in booraloola in the NT and we were fishing the mouth of the river up there and all of a sudden the water started bubbleing man there were like 1000 queen fish on a frenzy i wasnt even poping it i had about 3m of line out dragging the popper through the water and getting smashed lol.

  • My best is a 9 kilo Queenfish on a Popper at Scawfell island on 3 kilo line, caught 6 fish that day and all quality. Jump heaps as well. Have fished Booraloola, had a 4 way hook up on Barra, trolling 4 lures at the river mouth, landed three all around the 5 - 6 kilo mark, years ago and still remember the Kaos,

    cheers Greg

  • Hi, Recommend the owner hooks, alot stronger and have lost some good fish to the VMC's, especially on the heavier braid,

    cheers Greg

  • VMC's ........what do you expect? Go the single hooks.
