Yea, most people use overhead mics ONLY on youtube or their camcorder mics (please stop, your hurting my ears with that shit.) But matt has gone the way of close mic'ing, which has made for a much better, and like you said focused sound.

I personally like Lateralus best of all Tool's stuff, its just a great album altogether and it has Ticks and Leeches on it, which puts it up for me even farther. Aenema is great too and Undertow has more than a couple gems on it too, but IMO (sadly) 10,000 days has a lot of filler on it and less high points than their previous work; I don't think the combined awesomeness of Vicarious and The Pot is enough to put with the others, frankly.

Both are damn good. Beau can nail Bonham licks like no other and Matter has great feel and control even when he plays really complex stuff like Tool. I like Matter's style more cuz it's closer to my own (I like playing like DC), but anybody who could make Bonham proud is a beast too.

Both are damn good. Beau can nail Bonham licks like no other and Matter has great feel and control even when he plays really complex stuff like Tool. I like Matter's style more cuz it's closer to my own (I like playing like DC), but anybody who could make Bonham proud is a beast too.

I want this guy to do a cover on "Jambi" by TOOL and "The Pot" by TOOL...Ive learned how to play Schism and Vicarious through watching videos of him.... plus his kit sounds amazing, and he always has good camera angles to watch from.....KEEP up the good drumming and please post as many covers or new stuff as u can on You tube.... im looking forward to some new stuff....

My oh my, just when I think I've seen your best you keep leaving me jaw-dropped time and time again. This is one of the best pieces of songwriting I've heard in ages. A true breath of fresh air. And the drumming is diabolical to say the least. Just can't get enough.

Maybe if you didn't have your head so far up your ass maybe you could see I use the Drum Frame System. My entire kit plus my throne is tilted 15 degrees back. With out the back rest I would fall backwards. Hope making fun of people on the internet makes you feel good, but you just look like a dumbass to the rest of us. BTW I weigh 215...I may be hefty but I ain't fat.
