At 2:10 with all security footage being shown, 3rd screen down far left, the aisle with the shovels and garden forks. Earlier when this was shown full screen there was a man and women in that aisle dodging tools and stuff falling from the shevles, in the multiscreen they're gone? different footage maybe?
Oh and the woman at reception also gets to me, I don't like the way she gets thrown back and forth, hope she was ok.
interesting video but it would be better if the music wasnt so loud. backgroung or no music please and werent those people in the gardening tools section lucky. tools flying off the shelves everywhere.
@dknutsford do you mean my comment about the checkout chick? it gets me teary, cause she looks terrified, just holding her head as if "i dont want to die"....
Its not that bad really.. i mean i know a few of the people that died in the quakes. but its not exactly scary at the time.. just afterwards you see everything broken and its shocking.
You are a loser!!! of course its scary at the time you dick!!!! and you know people that died and still write comments like that! whats wrong with you? by the way cameras dont lie...
UM.... thats not raging just think its a stupid an insensitive thing to say! if you really new people that died in the quake have some respect. i was in town for the feb earthquake, and as the shaking was still happening we were seeing bits of buildings fall peolple hurt mess every where. not nice!!! same with every aftershock you never know how big its gunna get or when its gunna stop. RESPECT... or maybe your just really tough... OR reTarderd
this vid makes me tear up...i have never ever been caught in a shop when any of the quakes have happened....the lady on checkout covering her head....yip, teared up then.
@2Guys1CoD i wouldnt go that far to call them faggots, i know of some really kind and lovely Aucklanders, i know you are angry and more than likely stressed but ignore any dumb ass comments from some nasty people...(((HUGS))) from a fellow Cantabrian....(parklands)
I'd like to comment that most of us in Auckland do want to help those affected by the Canterbury earthquake disaster and it's very sad that the few who don't care seem to be getting all the limelight. These people are in the minority I can assure you. Those affected have stood the test of mother nature so well and I've been there personally and seen the horrific destruction. Stand strong fellow NZ'ers.
Ooooo it's pretty awesome seeing what us Christchurch people actually went through cuz when you're throne actually the earthquake it's difficult to tell what's actually happening...... Haha well it was ok though cuz it stopped my maths test lol!
whats it going to take for you sinners to repent of your wicked ways, Jesus is coming he is close even at the door how can you still sleep he is shaking you WAKE UP!. Repent
That sales person was really brave to ensure the safety of a customer I know that during the quakes everything goes out the window but this girl has it together she should get a pay rise! GOOD WORK!
Anyone who thinks this is cool or wants one to happen in there town IS A FUCKING RETARD. Try living through these earthquakes and loosing jobs/homes/family/friends. Have some respect.
yes that was me. No i didnt flog the glue, it got ditched some where along the way and no i wasnt trying to block the chick off. The scaffold was on wheels and moved when i grabed it.
Not to sound rude... But I actually want to know what a real life earthquake experience would feel like.... unlike that gay earthquake box stimulant at Te Papa Museum.
@iReCtiOnToSh Think of a table and someone pulls the table cloth out but leaves the objects standing now slow it down slightly so that the objects start to fall over and then do this back and fourth and then scale this up to a city size table. If you are up in a high rise then you scale the movement up, I experienced this next to a window and never knew a building could actually take the speed of the movement and still stay upright. Huge respect for this building now.
That was freaky enough in our office, and looks horrible in your warehouse! I hope the lady at the check out is OK, her hand looked like it almost got shut into the keyboard storage.
Lol that would be the freakiest place to be in an earthquake.. So many heavy and sharp tools that suddenly had the ability to fly straight at you. Happy I was safe at home for it :D
I used to work in a hardware store down in Canterbury many years ago. Watching this was pretty scary, as I kept thinking about all the different dangerous items that are around you in the different departments. I'm not surprised people are running. My thoughts are with you all down there.
(And I'm really very glad I don't live down there anymore, nor work in hardware).
Awesoem and well put together movie, I was at Countdown when the June 6.3 hit, bottles flying all over the place in the iles. Hope all is well, hopefully this will stop in the near future...
GLAD LORRAINE IS OK , LOOKED LIKE SHE GOT PUSHED AROUND HARDOUT. YES GLAD EVERYONE A ITM IS OK, PS DAVID U MUST NEVER SPRINT OUT OF A BUILDING AND LEAVE THE LADIES BEHIND;-) ALL GOOD US EAST COASTIES ON THE NORTH ISLAND, ARE THINKING OF U ALL, WE EVEN HAD A FUNDRAISING FOR THE PEOPLE OF CHRISTCHURCH, YOU CAN HAVE A LOOK ON (TE REO IRIRANGI O NGATI POROU) WEBSITE. ANYWAYS STAY SAFE.
@romanadamov Looks like you're upset that you're being left out? Not our fault that you come from a place that doesn't drink alcohol (as it would appear that a lot of you comments are alcohol related). Your dad must be angry with the money he has lent to you for study only to land up in a Earthquake prone part of the world... Maybe he should have done his homework better, but I guess anywhere else would think you're a flight risk. How did the exams go?
As scary as this must have been, and my thoughts are with all those affected, I wish people would stop using this music for everything. It's one of the greatest pieces of our time and it doesn't need to be used over cctv footage, or some national tv talent show, it just cheapens the piece.
Still, hope the fault line near you guys calms down very soon.
yeah i normally laugh at these things cus they look so weak but this is strong and the place where it is in a hardware store...sharp items everywhere...could actually get killed
we live in christchurch and probably noone would like to live here atm but got no other choice as our property , future all invested in this place . i truly believe we can get through this.. !!!
@romanadamov spoken like someone who hasn't been in an earthquake in their life. I moved from Christchurch to Tokyo straight after the February earthquake so I guess I'm allowed to comment on your ignorance, I don't know what makes you despise people from New Zealand so much, but earthquakes don't make you "hard," yes Japanese people are more polite, yes respect is a lot different in Japan, but victims in any natural disaster whether they are 5 or 100,000 are still victims.
fucks sake....i live in chch, and this looks so bad.....i was at highschool when it hit and the scaffolding of next to a building repeatedly smashed it, and then the 6.0 a massive commercial sized truck was jolting side to side
@3nasacova You should have also noticed the carpark was still standing. Life goes on. We cannot live in fear of earthquakes because they can happen anywhere at anytime.
@SmeezySisters You know... I walk around Auckland saying "I would have left after the Feb one" but if I change the situation to having one in Auckland - I couldn't leave. I live in the west of Christchurch.
In the first few days following the latest wobbles, I noticed the car park beneath the local supermarket was all but empty.
Today, 5 days later, it rained.
That same car park today was virtually full.
To me, that say's one of two things.
Either people have very short memories, or, they would rather take a shower in tonnes of concrete than in a little rain water.
