  • @bryansouza Thanks, I really like the guitar. I haven't changed a thing on it.

  • Just bought mine online a few days ago, haven't received it yet, and now I'm more excited than ever after seeing this. Such a great song, and played so well!

  • @Durotomee Thank you. I hope you like your new guitar as much as I like mine.

  • awesome sound! how does the neck feel compared to a fender? i'm looking for a great jazzmaster but i don't have that much money, you know... it looks and sounds great anyway!

  • @runishit The neck feels very Fender like but with a little flatter radius of 9.25" compared to Fender's 7.25. String bending is much easier on the flatter radius without fretting out and the pickups sound very Fender like.

  • @borgrif cool! i like string bending very very much, so that won't be a problem for me at all! thanks for the info man!

  • I love Jazzmasters

Sold my 66 Jazzmaster to a friend about 12 years ago

Wish I still had it, what a sound!

  • Geez that guitar sounds great!! Nails the ol surf stuff!! Ventures,Safaris, Jan and Dean you could probably do a bit of Link Wray too!!Nice job on the playing and tone!!

  • @RocknLester2011 Thank you! For the bargain basement price and with an hour or so of my time setting it up properly, it is a remarkable guitar.

  • Excellent review. I've been curious about these for months so it was nice to see one played well. One question: What do you think of the nut on that thing? It seems that nut construction/quality seems to be an issue with budget priced guitars.

  • @mrl0p3z Thanks. Of course I can't speak for all of them, but the nut on mine was cut very well. The longer I have this guitar, the more pleased with it I am.

  • Great dude! That sounds like a great deal!

  • Do you recommend this as a alternative to the jazzmaster? Cause I'm 17 and can't find a steady job and I want a actual jazzmaster but this guitar seems like it'll work great! How much does it go for and where do I buy it?

  • @wedontknowone1 Yes I would recommend this as a very close clone to a Fender Jazzmaster. They go for around $170.00 and can be purchased at guitarfetish(dot)com.

  • Run Don't Walk to the gym that is!

    Sorry couldn't help it.

  • @bluzjamer How utterly adult of you. I've never heard a fat joke before. I'll bet you're a riot around the blind or people in wheelchairs. Apparently your mother never told you that if you can't say something nice, say nothing at all, or you weren't listening to her.

  • Nice tones, I've been looking at these for a while.

  • @ns2joel I'm really pleased with mine. I've always liked Jazzmasters but they have been way out of my budget. The Xaviere fills that niche just fine for me. Oh, and thanks for the compliment.

  • Got mine today, Red one I love it,how are you keeping your trem arm from swinging around I see they don't fit tightly

  • @gibsoneer321 I don't have enough space here to give you the instructions. It is very eay though. If I can get your email address, I can send you a diagram of how to do it.

  • Great demo,my friend, you sold me. I just order one the "red rocket" can I ask you, what amp and settings were you playing "Walk Don't Run" song,it had a nice reverb sound, I loved it. How do you like the neck action on it when it came.

  • @gibsoneer321 First of all, thank you for the compliment, I appreciate it very much. I play through a Fender G-DEC 3 Thirty amp and I'm using a preset I created since the amp will let you store hunderds of presets besides the 100 it comes with. I chose a Blackface setting with large hall reverb dialed bsck & a little slapback echo. The amp is capable of absolutely limitless features. I've owned it for about a year and I still discover something new it can do daily. The neck is great.

  • Bear , you have a lovely smile , now there,s a man who's, happy with his lot , Comfy chair , nice guitar belting out some old terrific tunes . , and in his shorts , the man,s a Diamond .

  • @highspeedgaz Thank you!!!

  • hey, nice demo

what is the neck like? shape wise?

    thanx

  • @bebenavole It is kind of a medium deep "C" shape with a 9.25" radius. It is very comfortable to play even with big hands.

  • They are sold online at guitarfetish I've bought other guitar products from them and was always very pleased with the quality of the stuff they sold, so I took a chance and bought one of their guitars. I'm very happy with it.

  • zavee-arr? That's a new one to me.

  • @noi5emaker The Xaviere guitars are sold only online by guitarfetish. I am not affiliated with them in any way, I just really like the quality of their products and very reasonable prices.

  • Great surf tone man!

  • @NessKey Thanks. These are really nice guitars for the money.

  • It's too bad they're sold out of the Surf Green one right now... I'll probably end up going with the white.

  • great sounding guitar. I'd like to try it with some gain on a tube amp. Put some pants on next time haha!

  • @jonsteveg I have a vid with some overdrive on the JT 100 around 3:00min

  • thanks for the review of the Xaviere. i've been wanting to order one of these for quite a while.

  • @peskypesky You're welcome. You definitely will not be disappointed. Get a case with it, they're a steal at the price they charge and the quality of the case.

  • Great review.. if you ever do one for the xv 610.. let me know.. am comparing the two... !

  • Excellent demo sounds good or maybe its just you good playing some guys can make any guitar sound good

  • @Howardtripper What a nice thing to say, thank you very much. I am really surprised by this guitar because you get a lot more than you paid for. I would not hesitate to use this guitar at a live gig without a backup. Everything about it seems to be of very high quality. It is definitely a keeper.

  • is this guitar noisy at all?

  • @MrToddThomas Any single coil equipped guitar will be a little noisy especially if there are neon lights close by. Of course an inexpensive noise-gate will eliminate most noise if it bothers you. If you want the clean clear tone of a single coil pickup instead of the muddy sound of a humbucker, you must be willing to compromise.

  • @borgrif thanks for replying, i am torn between this one and the on with the tele style bridge and mini bucker.

i love the warm cleans you can get out of humbuckers.

another question does it stay in tune with the trem?

  • @MrToddThomas There is a huge misconception that guitars with vibratos do not stay in tune, when in fact tuning instability generally caused buy a nut with the slots either cut wrong or cut too small so it grabs the strings preventing them from returning to normal pitch. The second culprit is the bridge binding the string some where.

I always use the old string as a nut file to make sure the slots are of the right size and I use a product called Nut-Sauce, So the answer is yes it stays in tune

  • @borgrif thanks so much

  • Nice job!!!!!! That guitar sounds nice!

  • @Frontierblues Thank you. I'm very pleased with the guitar, especailly for how inexpensive it was.

  • @borgrif They ought to compensate you for playing that guitar! I wish more reviews were like this one, nice clean tones with a great song to show what the guitar sounds like,I might just have to buy one!

  • @Frontierblues That is really a nice compliment, Thanks a lot! I'm very sure you'd be very pleased with one if you do buy one. Now mine needed a real good setup after unboxing it and the Chinese strings are worthless. I've been doing setups for half a century so it didn't cost me anything but some time. A good luthier shouldn't charge you more than $50-$60 for what I had to do to mine if you can't do it yourself.

  • is that a SX jazz bass i see in the background?

  • @PennybagDarrell Yes it is, and it is the short scale version and I just love it. The action is awesome and I put on some GHS stainless flats on it.

  • @borgrif awesomeness dude. i want one and i wanted to know is the body smaller on the short scale?

  • @PennybagDarrell Not having them side by side to compare, the body of the bass does not feel small to me so I'm assuming the bodies on both are the same and only the necks differ.

  • wat amp r u using?

  • @h3at32 I'm using a Fender G-DEC 3 Thirty with one of my own presets and I mic it right into my coumputer with a Samson USB mic.

  • Is that the stock tremelo arm? The tremelo arm on this Xaviere model has a tendency to fall out. I have a sunburst JT-100 at home here. Great guitar for the money. Never seen anything like it at this price level.

  • @strangeuniverse1 @strangeuniverse1 Yes, it is the stock vibrato arm. The problem even occurs in the $2,000 Fender reissue. The next time you change strings take all of them off at once and then take the entire vibrato system out of the guitar. With the arm in place (this is VERY important), take a good pair of pliers and squeeze the collet that holds the arm as tight as you want it. If the arm is not fully in place, you run the risk of breaking one of the collet ears and you're screwed.

  • nice playing and review. whats the song?

  • @IAMJOHNNYTHEFOX Thanks! The song is "Walk Don't Run" written by jazz guitarist Johnny Smith but made popular by a 1960's instrumental surf band called "The Ventures." The lead guitarist of "The Ventures" played a Fender Jazzmaster so I thought the song to be apropo since the JT-100 is a Jazzmaster clone..

  • I'm gonna buy one soon

  • @MrGerone25 I can virtually guarantee that you will love it. Mine required a full set up and intonation and the strings that come on it are just plain junk. I've been doing setups and minor guitar repairs for 50+ years. If you don't do your own setups, find a good luthier in your area to set it up for you with the kind of strings you like and the height you like your action. That should cost you about $50 but it is worth it.

  • nice playing. was sort of just joking around, as i saw the link on some guitar discussion forum. back the the regularly scheduled guitar demos...

  • er... no, quite the opposite. but thanks for asking. just seemed quite odd attire for a guitar demo.

  • @TheLiamrobert I was doing the demo for some friends of mine, not for the company that sells the guitar. It was hot so I was wearing a T-shirt and a pair of red shorts. I did have underwear on, but it was under the shorts. This has to be the strangest set of comments and replies I've ever done, but I hope I've put your mind at ease. :)

  • Bear, how would describe the neck ie: slim, chunky. "C" shape round? How well does this axe stay in tune? I've been looking at these on the GFS site.

  • @MrDustyRoad The neck is not real chunky with a modern Fender "C" profile. I think the radius is 9.25" with medium jumbo frets. It stayed in tune great even with heavy vibrato use. If I were in the market for a JM, I would definitely buy one of these over the Fender Players JM. I think those suck. This thing plays and sounds like a Jazzmaster and is really good looking with excellent construction.

  • you wearin' your underwear?!

  • @TheLiamrobert Why, does it turn you on?

  • Well... Bear, looks like ya pulled another one off. Good job man, keep 'em coming. DustyRoad

  • @MrDustyRoad Thanks!
