Thank you for your kind words. I either teach in a face to face class in New York or online through Skype video calls. My online students normally have good sight-reading skills and have completed some basic training elsewhere.

I apologize for confusing the names. I'm currently at school and got sidetracked when writing my message. I realize Mr.Payvar is the name of the composer.
Thanks a lot for your kind comment. I am very pleased to hear that you enjoyed it. I can't agree more. Master Payvar truly has written some of the best masterpieces for santur ever and I am so honored to have learnt them directly by him and am able to perform and broadcast them in YouTube. Thanks.

It's a normal Shur-e Sol with a difference that you need to have a "Re Bekar" (kharake 7 zard).

I really enjoyed this. Great performance Mr. Payvar.
Out of curiosity, how long have you been playing this lovely instrument for? and did you purchase it in Iran?

Wow, you are very good. By the way, I was wondering if you could tell me how long Faramarz Payvar played the santur, just to satisfy my curiosity.
Takanaka001 3 years ago
Thanks for your kind comments. Master Payvar actually started santur when he was 17. He is 76 now, therefore, 59 years.
