  • Une voix merveilleuse !

du plaisir à écouter chanter un ange !

  • @MONTESTIER Oui Vraiment!

  • Merry Yule!

  • This is the BEST version of this song ever created! It's so beautiful and hypnotic. I can't help but move to it's mystical rhythms.

  • @TheLeguro Well considering Christianity is a Middle-Eastern religion, it's only fitting to have a bit of an Arabic flavor to the song.

  • East meets west! Love the song

  • I've loved this song since the first time I heard it, and when the violin kicked in this instantly became my favourite version!

  • @TheLeguro Well Christianity did start in the Middle East. So,yeah....

  • I'm not religious, but man I love this song ♥

  • came across this song on program installer from a torrent, did some googling and found it, surprising, sounds cool

  • I 1st heard this song for a crack on Daniusoft Converter!

  • forget your religion and just enjoy the music

  • Love this music, absolutely beautiful and relaxing. No one's religion can deny that.

  • I am a Pagan, and I love this song. Because, as a child, I heard this in church with my family, and that is why it brings good feelings to me.

-It's also a traditional English carol, which I love.

  • YOUR GODS ALL SUCK! Music binds us all!

  • All religion is bull crap, Muslim, Jew, Christianity, Hinduism and all the other man made crap that was created in order to control the population that inhabits the earth... When I want to read the bible I go to my library and seek it out in the "Fiction" section where it belongs! I love the violin in this song, that's why I'm here :)

  • This song is beautiful but I would LOVE to have the backdrop of this alone...its exquisite!

  • @Whirrednerd Because whether it's sensible or not is irrelevant to the fact that he was using my name. He has his own account. On perhaps a lesser note, despite the sensibility of his comment, that last line could have been uttered a little less condescendingly. I'm not saying that he should not stand up for what he knows, but he should do so with his own signature.

  • Uhhhh stop fueling the flame war guys ffs. I hate how in society these days you can't listen to a Christian song without some twat starting an argument in the comments.

  • it's a beautiful song no matter what.

  • fuck all of you idiots, I am an atheist and I can't stop listing to this song. If you don't like it, go listen to Justin beiber and suck on a cow's dick even if you're an atheist and hating this :)

  • Will people stop using the comment section to argue about religion! Just listen to the song.

  • Okay, that wasn't me who said that. Someone in this household has been using my account and is about to get an earful.

  • @7andGproductions But why, that's the only sensible comment i've seen on here. Give them a pat on the back.

  • The universe suits itself, I don't want it mad at me. I'll step outta it's way.

  • Jesus is God's Son, the Way, the Truth and the Light, no one goes unto the Father except through Him. Jesus Christ (Christ is Greek for Messiah which is Hebrew, both mean the anointed One) is the Word made man. He was always God's Son. God bless. I shall pray for your soul.

  • Tidings of God coming close to all men - are of Comfort and Joy!

  • Beauty is beauty, in any Religion.

  • love god and love all

  • Why religion ?

  • Comment removed

  • tidings of comfort and joy!

  • i liked when Dr.House sing it more :3

  • @5yn74x3rr wait what? which season/episode? id like to see that :)

  • @lonelyqueen86 #410 "It's a Wonderful Lie" =)

  • @5yn74x3rr I agree :D just watched the episode and had to look it up

  • i love this :) you don't have to be christian to appreciate beautiful music

  • FINALLY! I found this... Been looking so long. Beautiful.

  • like this if ChatChitto brought you here!

  • @13ellarobin hehe, count me too......

  • This song is just simply beautiful, her voice is like an echo of the old days.

  • ok it's over a month now since christmas but this songs stuck in my head for a week now i just have to listen to it even though i'm totally not in a christmas mood

  • this is my absolutely favorite christmas song since i can remember .. <3

  • @nsdapbky although 3:20-4:10 part resembles a traditional Turkish "taqsim" in Rast(?) maqam, instrumentation and style sounds a little arabic to me. Ties between traditional European and Middle Eastern music is closer than most people think,

  • This music between the irish and turkish music.. I think its perfect .. espeacially its effected by turkish music culture between the 3,20 and 4,10 min.

  • Wow, this is the exact version that Chatt Chitto played , who is one of the creators of Tune Up Utilities. I found this song in a menu.

  • @theRecONcile Actually, Chat Chitto didnt create it. He torrented it, big difference.

  • @theRecONcile LOL me too!!

  • how can anyone not like this piece :) salute friends :)

  • *posts a non-argumentative comment that actually relates to the song*

I love her voice :3 Very elegant and mystical.

  • ... why are we argueing? guys your living up to every youtuber steriotype ever. people fight in like every video on this site. jesus people, shut up.

  • God rest ye merry, guys! (:D

  • I was enjoying the song, then I read the comments. Really. You guys are arguing over trivial things. But... to the guy who starts with an L, stop flaming and move on.

  • To save us all from Satan's power when we have gone astray....

  • she has such an amazing voice that i keep listening to it over and over.

if you like her you should really check out blackmore's night

  • What a beautiful version of a classic song!

  • best thing to hear on a crisp Christmas morn.

  • best version of this song to date.

  • People are similar but not the same. We have different enviroments, genetics, experiances, points of view, ect. This whole conversation is proof of the diverse set of views that makes us different because if everyone is the same what is there to argue about?

  • @VirulentAsh Good job ruining the truth of oxilizz's statements. He or she is absolutely correct. At the end, all colors bleed to red, we all weep, we all love at some point, we all want for things. Your comments are foolish and highly pretentious and of terribly poor spirit on such a festive day. Shame on you!

  • @Lunafirsoniasa I don't like how you assault my comment by calling it "foolish" and "pretentious" because you are avoiding the truth of my statement by attacking my credibility. Not all people cry, individuals with Familial dysautonomia can lack the ability. When you bleed all the colors together you get a brownish black not red. People that die at a young age my never experience love, and even those who do may never find it. People in vegetative states do not “want” anything the ability is gone

  • @VirulentAsh You are being pretentious and foolish because you are purposely ruining the spirit of a song that so many on this page love. Do you go to every merry thing and ruin them too? Do you tell children who are dying of cancer to not believe in Santa because they'll be gone anyway? I mean why are you so negative? Do yourself a favor and stop ruining things for people, it does not show any wisdom or knowledge that I recognize you have, it only shows a lack of class and breeding.

  • @Lunafirsoniasa How then is this song related to the comments of similarity, and when did I say anything bad about Christmas?I am not ruining this for people since it is their choice to believe my comment or even to read them. Why don't you do yourself a favor and stop insulting people to make up for your lack of will or ability to argue the argument instead of attacking the people who made them.Insults have no place in this argument and are simply utilized to distract from my main arguments.

  • @VirulentAsh The point is songs like this do not warrant ruining. It's beautiful. Enough. Stop trying to twist my words which were awesome and necessary to stop you, back onto me. You are in the wrong here. You shouldn't have started with your comment, it is like coming into a party and saying how sad you are and that the world sucks. I had every right to put you in your place and I am sure others will agree and even join in. You brought this on yourself and ha I doubt it's the first time.

  • @Lunafirsoniasa The point is you are not even addressing this song and what we are arguing about is mostly unrelated to the song. What you are doing is like going to a party and telling people to fk off when they prove you wrong while avoiding their arguments.

  • @VirulentAsh Ok. LOL Once again...you started this. You were the one who went off about something other than this song and how liking it was tantamount to being delusional. And now you are splitting hairs and turning words to ineffectively benefit yourself. So fail. STOP.

  • @Lunafirsoniasa If you have not realized it you did it again.......... was the "ineffectively" and "fail" really necessary? I think you just want to continue flaming.

  • one of my fave christmas songs :)

  • A Holiday tune that is Bellydanceable! Lalalalalalalalala-yip! ;D

  • I think TBs version is better.

  • Even an atheist can enjoy this :) She's wonderful, isn't she?

  • Well, this is such a great song. I got to know it because the german band ASP played it on a concert. Thanks to them ;-)

  • @oooomphiziert Ich durfte ASPs Version auch in Wuppertal genießen :) Hoffe sie veröffentlichen ihre Version auf CD.

  • mary christmas hanamoon

  • Oh everyone with their rancid tongues, put it to rest. What religion one is of has nothing to do with who they are. We really can all co-exist how we are, we do not need to spread influence or tell others how they should be. We need to all learn to respect each other for who they are. This understanding is built through learning of the other cultures and really creating a sense of why they believe what they believe. Stop with all this nonsense. It is stupid and self-centered.

  • @Eowyn1021 Amen!

  • I have never heard this Loreena version. Awesome, thanks for the upload. Ms. McKennit can blend music from all over the world like no other. Now if only the world would blend this beautifully we'll be good to go!

  • @SouthBoston88 Oh and here is a shocker - I am, and have been, a registered conservative and vote accordingly...stop with the anger...Christ wants us to love and be loved. You need to re-read your scriptures. Btw, Merry Christmas and Happy Yule!

  • @obxchell ,

yikes, and its because of "Christians" such as yourself why we are destined to die if nothing changes. it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize when Islamists are encouraged to preserve their beliefs at any cost, and Jews are encouraged to support their ethnocentric state of Israel at any cost, and modern Christians are encouraged by limp wristed Pastors/Priests to jump on the Hollywood bandwagon to "adopt a negro" and "turn the other cheek", which side will win in the end.

  • @SouthBoston88

You're sadly misled if you think that all religions are about winning. Correct me if i'm wrong but in the bible it says that when the last Christian has come to put his/her life into walking in the path of Jesus than the Day of Judgement will come.

God also said to preach the word to all the nations/peoples of the world. Before that he only claimed one nation. Israel. This is a new age.

P.S. Rocket scientists are really bad when it comes to studying about humanities.

  • @SouthBoston88 I am a Christian Female who not only co-exists with Jews AND Muslims but the beautiful, loving PAGANS as well. You obviously can only exist with yourself and your obviously close-minded thought. You give Christianity a bad name..shame on you.

  • @obxchell ,

sure you do. keep telling yourself that, you may even believe it someday. HAHAHA!!!

  • to save us all.. everyone.. how wonderful it is!

  • wonderful..

  • Blessed are the peace makers.

  • I came back to the song and sound that is Christmas to all of us!

  • second best version of this song! (only beaten by Ronnie James Dio in my opinion), but absolutely beautiful!

  • A year ago today that I and my girlfriend should be findanzati but God wants you to be separated from me and died and put it with another phone and she said hello I love you all right all right but I did not know that she Another was with only god knows the pain I feel this music to calm me for you god that is there can help me

  • That totally gave me chills. She has an extraordinary voice which kind of makes me think of the 'old' times.

  • @ridderres I agree :) Something about her voice just takes you somewhere else

  • I really like the setting. And of course her crystal voice. This is very nice.

  • @talyn08 Very

    classy.

  • I ordered this cd, but it hasn't come yet, so I'm on youtube listening to it cause I can't wait :D

  • never seen these people believe so much in God in Jesus and the Madonna I want the war to end but god knows it already, and then scream to the world war, no peace, I greet you from milan

  • this beautiful music and you can CONTACT your inner talk and say davero you can make your life itself is more Fellicò in the path that Jesus entrusted to you in the birth of people say yes to life even when you say you're going to die and God will save you God exists God and God will save us all here and feel it all not just me I am a Christian I always see the trasmisioni Sunday mass yesterday on an Italian TV program years spoken of the Blessed Virgin of the Assumption I cried I cried Cause i

  • Could you send me this song for me to download? I love this song so much.

  • i feel jesus when i hear this song....the way she sings it...it's like the seraphim are dancing..loool

  • The music fits the place where Jesus was born. So it sounds right.

  • is pomegranate a christmas/wintery fruit in that part of the world? I`m just asking, because that fruit from the picture looks like one

  • @dawgghogg111 yeah here in greece it is tradition says that you have to break it in front of your door in the first day of the year,so your luck is as much as many the pomegranate seeds are:)

  • @dawgghogg111 pomegranates are fully ripe in Israel around this time. ;)

  • @FruityPandas That sounds amazing. I've always wanted to visit Israel, in some ways it represents the things my country has a tendency of lacking.

  • I want a gloomy version of this, it sounds like a funeral of a Villain...When it's all gloomy...

  • When I hear Loreena's voice I feel like I'm living in the 1800's ~ she's amazing! God bless us everyone and remember Christ our Savior was born on Christmas day!

  • @xartag So thats what Christianity is all about.....

  • @xartag Excuse me? I'M Muslim and I love this song. My family is christian/atheist/pagan and I'm fine with that. Try not insulting people until you know what you're talking about.

  • @andipoetic I wasnt refering you to in person. If you take offence for every person insulted you are a pretty pathetic person. I was pointing out that I feel discomfited about a general group that hijacks the religion Islam and makes it far more worse then it has to be!

  • @andipoetic lool ppl cool down......i just love when ppl offend themselves...chill out sheesh!!!!

JUST ENYOJ(hope i wrote that good) THIS BEAUTIFUL MUSIC!!

and btw thanks loreena because without your music i would never be able to study it just inspires me sooo much :D

  • @andipoetic are you serious??? how is that insulting???? believe in what you want but do not tell people not to believe in what they want. how is that important that you are Muslim and she is offending you by saying god bless you?????

  • @mickluzny When did I say I was offended by a "god bless you"? I am offended because xartag said that all Muslims existed to abolish Christianity. I don't care if someone says god bless you, that's touching actually.

  • @andipoetic typical muzzie. SAD! Do you know what truth means? No, you dont.

keep your lies out of here. All of you!!

  • @prttyuniqUe Ooh, another troll. Come up with some NEW insults instead of copying the ones others before you have been using for a century.

  • @andipoetic Hi! I hope you can help me. I am looking for some Christian music (in english) but with a middle eastern flair, like this song. Can you help me?

  • I no all of u r rite but is this not christmas music it is religious but still im not saying tht only certain people should listen to it

  • @theMilagro27 christmas is religious dear friend :) its has just become comercialised over the years...

  • if only worship music sounded this good.

  • I love the music! I don't even do xmas and I love it.:)

  • hate de music love de lyrics

  • it makes me laugh that people are amongst some of the best music in the world, and yet they can find nothing to do but argue. hush up.

  • i totaly agree love everyone , there are bad peiple in every religion

  • i totaly agree love everyone , there are bad peiple in evry religion

  • echt super ;)

  • I so just ish everyone would get get on the same page....it';s not about being religious..it's being human! Be true to yourself and your fellow human beings.......who cares what others believe? We have all been made by an incredible being..no matter what who calls HIM! Our existence didn't happen by accident! Our body..just the human body is amazing! Not even talking about the animals that grace our land!

  • one great thing about the holidays, especially christmas, is although at first glance it's a Christian holiday, it really is a holiday for all...and is just so wonderful with or without the religion being an important factor.

  • I'm atheist but I love Christmas songs, and Christmas for that matter. I don't celebrate Christmas the same as most. I don't put out little statues of Mary and Three Wise Men, but I find it as a time to be nice to one another and express good will. This song sums that spirit up well.

  • What a beautiful voice!

  • @talyn08

You're a clsyy guy you are.

  • She sings this beautifully!! Very inspiring!

  • I love her, she is so amazing <3

  • i love this song. we r doing it in our school christmas performance.

  • crazy cool - the video is wild!

  • Beautiful.

  • been a long time since I heard this..ty for posting :-)

  • My fave version of this song. This is wonderful.

  • The background music kinda reminds me of Narnia.

  • music from heavens

    just perfect!!!

  • This is not Turkish music, it is Persian, Levantine and Sephardi...what I love the most about people, especially Christians, is they say "Ah! This is Arab!! This is Muslim! No!" Your savior was an Arab Jew, a Sephardi Semite, so please, do your research. If you hate Arabs, the Levant or Semitic culture, no matter the faith, then you CAN'T call yourself a Christian. That goes for hateful Jews too. This song here, is the most true to our sound in the Levant & how music of the time would sound.

  • By the way this is Turkish music combined with middle east essences or the other way around. Great voice great music.

  • @LordofPontus This is not Turkish music. It is Persian, Levantine and Sephardi...Turks took the music from Persia when they meshed...that's a fact. No knock on Turks, I love them, but their music and dance, including bellydance, all comes from Persia and Indo-Persia.

  • @oxilizz

I agree with you completely cultues merge and turkish cultre was heavily influenced by persian culture.

  • @LordofPontus All the people of this Earth are the same. We are all the same in essence, there is nothing that separates us. These labels and such are man-made distinctions, not real, not true.

  • @oxilizz That was quite profound.

  • @oxilizz Well we are, and I agree....but you can't ignore the facts that everyday things such as wealth, health and prejudice effect peoples life enormously, and these are the things which separate us. So really for good or bad, labels are true, and we are not all equal.

  • @SouthBoston88 With all due respect, I don't understand this statement. Why then is Jerusalem the focal point, for the 3 religions that you mentioned, if "He separated them on different parts of the earth in the first place". They were separated by time and not geographical distance? I personally totally agree with Oxilizz. Its a beautiful song that should be enjoyed and not used as a starting point for arguments.

  • @SouthBoston88 You do realise that if you and your like-minded fellows stopped believing that the idea of peaceful co-existence is "hogwash" then it could easily become reality? YOU are the problem, mate. Also, claiming to know God's intentions is (by the laws of your religion) blasphemy at the least, and pure manipulative evil at worst.

  • @kashmir87 ,

the only ones foolish enough in believing that "co-existence" crap are whites, AND ONLY WHITES. Non-whites look after their own people, and rightly so. It's only whites who feel they need to "save the third world" due to some absurd White guilt craze. I do not claim to know God's intentions, only the reality that I view and experience. God did indeed seperate the races of the earth, did He not? That's not blasphemy, that's fact.

  • @SouthBoston88

It's also quite sad that leading up to Christmas day you cannot tolerate or contain yourself for one week at least until this is over, let alone on a well known Christmas carol.

It's sad to think that you only think skin deep and don't think about the things that really matter in society. Perhaps next time instead of brandishing an entire race you might want to think about the society and culture which is the actual reason for the donations. Or at least research.

  • @SouthBoston88 But we do, just to spite you and your "God". We have been doing this for centuries and we are getting better and better at it.

  • @SouthBoston88 How about WE all get along and YOU go seperate yourself in a different place...

  • @oxilizz

    what about the jews?

    come on...

  • @oxilizz TRUTH SPOKEN. Thank you dear friend.

  • Best version of this song. Ever. c: Loreena McKennitt is amazing.

  • Athiests need to trip on some shrooms and get back on track.

  • I recognize this song!

  • Trippy cover art...

  • This song has such power that I remembered it and listened to it in August.

  • at the violin solo it souds like kashmir by robert plant...great composition

  • schön super^^^^^^

  • my father plays the violin solo that starts at the 3rd minute and 6th,,,,

  • even if its not christmas i still love thesae songs i can play this somg on my peano not like thios thou

  • Religions have always caused debate. Can we not learn to get along and respect each-other? Why must religion be like politics. Unless something was done to offend the other man there should be no reason to bicker. Tell what the offense was so we can learn not to do such to one another and end it at that.

  • @dakoata121212 you just shut ur mouth mmk..a..y
