@AnalogKidAlex: This particular guitar is not a Fender, it's a Roland guitar. It hooks up to a guitar synth (next to the normal plug). The synth sounds are used on assasin for instance, have a look at the intro for that. I had the pleasure to meet Steve Rothery in 1988 at a meet and greet, nice guy.
Few have ever (or will ever) come close to Fish as a performer. Charismatic, witty, intelligent, sympathetic. He's a great guy who really is as large as life. He's put words to so many feelings for me for more than quarter of a century - peerless. Currently going through a hard time in his persoanl life I, for one, wish him a speedy return to the road and the Market Square Heroes who wait to march once more... Slainthe Fish! :-)
Live from Loreley 1987, available on DVD and/or CD, amazon for example. By the way, i was there on that day. Rooting for Magnum, but Marillion were excellent, too :-)
just perfect!

I've just started enjoying Marillion with Steve Hogarth, just for a change really, but will always love the Fish era. My favourite Marillion song.

In a darkness, in which I lived, I heard your voice,
My mind got captured by your poetry sublime,
When I was dead and had no choice,
Your music sounded like a chime!!!!!!!!! My respect to you FISH, long live MARILLION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Your perimeter of courtiers jerk like celluloid puppets
As you stutter paralyzed with rabbits eyes, searing the shadows
Flooding the wings, to pluck elusive salvation from the understudys lips
Retrieve the soliloque, maintain the obituary
My cue line in the last act and you wait in silent solitude
Waiting for the prompt, waiting for the prompt
You've played this scene before!"
My favorite song from Marillion. And damn does this bring back so many fond memories of the 80's............
