I remember when I was watching Gone With The Wind. All of a sudden, my cousin came into the movie room. He was taking a shower, but instead of water, "waste" came out.
Whenever you see water coming up anywhere (( you shut the main )) So that your tenants above you dont keep flushing water & this happens !! The 4" stack line was clogged up right beneath you dude. The 2" lines (tub/sink) branch into the 4. If the 4" is clogged,, water will come up @ lowest point. In your scenerio, the lowest point was the tub.

I would hire a plumber to install backflow preventers in the the sewer and water lines. Many if not most muni codes madate them these days. That would prevent this from happening however if there was a situation where the backflow preventer was preventing this kind of backflow and one tried to flush a toilet it will flood out.
Guys they clogged the toilet so no more raw sewage floods their house. The sewer got backed up and this is what happened. That is about 3000 dollars down the drain, so I dont see why people are joking around about this. I feel sorry for u, ignore those people. I kno how u feel
We had something similar happen in our old apartment when I was younger, raw sewage flooded the bathtub and it damaged a lot of our property.. As much as everyone is joking about this, it's very traumatizing..
Umm looks like my house when I came home from vacation but I had water falling from holes in the roof and the carpet was wet.but what happened with my house is that the water supply line broke and shot a hole in our wall.oh did i mention it was a two story house and the upstairs toilet broke and the most damaged room was the master bedroom(the one under the bathroom)!
I live in an old slum were everything is aging and wearing out, but I've never had to deal with anything near to as bad as sewage backing into it though.
@obamasucksdick99 Don't blame this on the army it happens often enough in regular houses. Family friend up in missouri had a similar problem with his basement because of a bad rainstorm flooding the line though fortunately it didn't lead to his house being condemned just a few weeks of cleanup.
@Cutekitty1010 I'd say this was not a blocked drain but a blocked sewer line. Should have had one of those control valves to prevent water from going the wrong way up the line.

It happened to me once on Fort Drum. The stupid lady upstairs flushed down her pad and clogged my toilet. My husband was in field training so I had to clean everything all by myself ... It was the most disgusting thing I had to experience, poo poo everywhere !

You are not familiar with on post departments. The main sewage line has nothing to do with housing. That belongs to DPW = Department of Public Works. Key word is the "Main Sewage Line" not interior plumbing. Do some research before you post your non intelligent comments. I used to live there back in 84 we had it the same thing happen except we had field mice everywhere you looked they were everywhere in the dishwasher under the sinks you name it we had it. We lived near the park there next to the south gate or the main gate cant remember, But what good memorys that i could remember at 4 yrs old. Im so sorry for your place i hope they replaced everything and moved you guys out of there.
