  • Short clip from Bobby Bare. Truly one of the greats - reads a song as well as Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins or Conway. Maybe 'the original outlaw' before Waylon & Willie - Bare turned up live and performed without any flash like a small rock band would. Bare could write, certainly could choose great songs and the understated delivery served him well.

  • still got it Bobby, what a great man and legend..

  • Bobby Bares voice is phantastic!

He´s a great, great country singer.

    THE BEST !!!

  • Hey Bobby is still knockin it down !!!!

  • I like him better playing the acoustic! :) great job tho!

  • wow im so honored to be born on the same day as him!

  • I saw Bobby about in the eighty he is a great singer. Thanks for posting

  • It's only 230 miles, but it feels like 500... I wanna go home...Buffalo WYOMING

  • shame the bass-player didn't know the song!

  • 1961 on the way to parris island s c semper fi

  • Just saw Bobby Bare Fishing at lake Panasoffkee Fla. he still looks good and I talked with him every day when I got in from work One of the nicess people youd want to meet

  • he needs a new bass player

  • I seen the guy in concert when I was a kid back in the 80's. This is the kind of music that makes you feel and think. These studio dubbed no talent spoiled brats couldn't carry a tune in a bucket and they aren't fit to be on the same stage as the legends.

  • @patriotim12

Totally agreed man that's all I have to say cause you said everything that could be said.

  • this is even better than the original one

  • I love him and his talent. He is the best. Noone can sing country like he can!!

  • Wow~ one of my old Banjo Tunes(played chords way back in those days!) Love the song!x

  • He's still that far from his second home in Ohio.

  • ultimate......

  • Wasn't it a beautiful world when we were all naive and innocent, and the music took us home ? I don't even know where home is anymore.

  • Bobby is one of my top favourite all time country singers.

  • Like a fine wine...better with age.

  • still as good as he sang it in the 60s, his bass player hit a couple of wrong notes though

  • Always loved this guys voice!!!!

  • My all time favorite song. Happy birthday Bobby!

  • Happy birthday dear Bobby! Your voice brightens up my life.

  • 1101chines this is also how my Dad introduced me to Country music back in the 60s. What a voice.

  • he is one of the legends that I will never forget. My dad sung this song to me when I was just a little girl and he will always be in my heart with this song God Bless

  • Strange - decades earlier in the black and white TV production, the backup singers messed him up with wrong lyrics and in this one, the bass player is totally lost; like he prepared to do it in a different key than G.

  • @isoarcars the bass player did fine when the song went to the key of G, it was when the song was in the key of D where the bass player screwed up, never the less Bobby Bare sings just as good as he did years ago!

  • Legend......hands down

  • good audio and videio

  • Bobby you can sing to me any time!

  • bobby bare.. rocks!!! a fan from india!! keep rocking!! ol' pal'

  • He'll be 74 tomorrow - born April 7, 1935.

  • Classic. thanks for the reply!

  • just great even 500 miles away from home..

  • He sounds a little rough with his vocals here... i saw him at the Stafford Centre in Houston Tx a couple years ago... he sounded much better than this...i was 5 rows back... he was awesome!

  • your right the base man needs some leasons. Bobby still got it at 73 !! Love the man and his music. Thanks for posting

  • Someone needs to teach the bass player how the song goes!

  • This man gets better with age. My favorite and always will be.

  • One of the most least recognized country artists of the last 40 years!!! This guy was and is something super SPECIAL!!!

  • Please, How can Bobby be reached? Does anybody know? Agent maybe? Thanks so much for posting this.

  • I wish Nashville (The "Grand" Ole Opry would have a LEGENDS REUNION! I'd luv to see Bobby Bare, Stonewall Jackson, Lynn Anderson, Little Jimmy Dickens, Mel Tillis, Jerry Reed, Dolly would be too big for that I'll bet, but the list could go on & on.

If I had the cash flow, I'd do this myself... (Pardon any typos... I'm sleepy)

  • Bass Player was messin up But its good to see ol Bobby

  • I dont know much...but whoever is playing bass in this song needs to take more lessons...some major mistakes in the first half of this..

  • I am a bass player and the guy does miss some changes at first. Anyone doing a gig at a casino is bound to be pro. Perhaps Bobby was sitting in with the band for the first time or there were no charts given out ahead of time and they were winging it.

  • I just saw his son, Bobby Bare Jr. in Louisville and he was one of the most charismatic performers that I've ever seen. It's in the genes I guess.

  • Does anyone no how old Bobby is now? He can still sing those good ole country songs.

  • Birthday: Sunday April 7, 1935

    Age: 73

  • Fantastic voice at 73!!!!!

    And still good looking!!!!

  • He was born in 1935

  • If you look at his records, songs, he is one of the greatest singers since 60s. Many hit songs, and great vocals!

  • love it <33

  • Still the best singer ever!

  • Yea, great song, but he's getting a little old there aint he?

  • It's nice to see that Bobby is still performing.Go Bobby!

  • Best singer ever!

    When was that?
