  • In my opinion, this is THE BEST film version of Jane Eyre ever made! No other film adaptation comes close.

  • This is the first version of this story I saw. Loved it!

  • very Cool Movie. The first is always the best!

  • If only this creative team could have had the time/money/whatever to do the entire story.

  • One of the best Williams' scores.

  • I remember watching this on tv in the 80s. I was about eleven or twelve. When I got to middle school and I read this story for the first time. It came my third favorite book to read behind Pride and Prejudice and Gone with the Wind.

  • I love all the Jane Eyre movies so much, now I just need to buy the book some where..

  • Oh thank you. This is by far my favourite Jane Eyre production. George C Scott is amazing..

  • @annab - I was 11 or 12 when this was on TV. I had a handheld tape recoreder and taked the entire thing. The music and certain scenes with George C Scott were played over and over. Many times have I wondered why this was never shown again on TV. Only today did it occur to me that some information might be found on the internet. I hadn't dreamed that segments would also be available for viewing AND the incredible music. I have been transported...

  • @femmenik Yes, I was about the same age and both the movie and the music have haunted me through the years. I couldn't believe my luck when I came across a DVD of this movie, but then was immediately disappointed to see so many scenes cut out. This is the first copy I have come across with no cuts. I wish I could find it on DVD for the North American DVD machines as I can only watch this on my small laptop.

  • Who knew Patton could act so well?

    Lol XD

  • Hey! What happened to mrs. and cousins Reed?

  • PLEASE LOS SUBTITLES IN SPANISH ..

  • Thank you for posting this movie - i always especially loved the haunting piano music!

  • Thank you for uploading this version---the most beautiful version, in my opinion---of the film!

  • It seems that this version is one of the more popular rendition of Jane Eyre but the hardest to find. Odd.

I think the fact that John Williams (Star Wars) did the soundtrack to this film adds to its aura.

  • the yuong jane reminds me of emma watson. is it her?

  • @gaxzy how can it be her since this film was made in 1970....

  • @gaxzy Emma Watson? In 1970? :)

  • Finally! thank you for posting this version, the best in my opinion.
