Is everyone on here that states donkey basketball is cruel know anything about donkey or just animals in general? I grew up in the business of donkey basketball! That was me in the video. the guy with no face lol! I'm kinda interested in knowing what it is that is cruel about the sport. Tell me what's cruel about it. So I can prove you wrong
@donkeybballrocks "might be wrong" . "fun to watch". please remember what you watch might be fun for you but not the animals who have no choice. notice in the video they often show expression of fear and want out of there? i saw several going for that exit door. why was that? let us think of others and not just ourselves.
West Texas A&M University along with SAGE is hosting a donkey ball tournament fundraiser provided by Dairyland Donkey Ball on March 28th at 7:00pm. PLEASE WRITE MY SCHOOL AND LET THEM KNOW OF YOUR DISGUST! I am very ashamed of this seeing as how I am a proud student of WT. *shakes head*
@donkeybballrocks donkeys are trained to do this? why would that be? research, please. take a deeper look in their eyes and see fear. better yet if you were there you would see them head for the exit doors. PROFIT and NOTHING else.
The best way to deal with a stubborn donkey, is to get a strap and pop the donkey on his backside, as hard as you can , repeatedly. You will be able to have a nice smooth ride after that.
LMAO. You people have no clue!! These donkeys are bred and raised FOR donkey basketball. They are 100% used to this environment and those who participate are heavily instructed to be kind to them. The donkeys are not hurt in any way, shape, or form. Get a grip! If you had any idea how much brute strength a donkey has, you would know that riding them in this environment doesn't hurt them in the least. Idiots.
.... you then agree slaves were bred for humans? slaves were "used to it"? people were "kind" to slaves? did that make it "right"? times change. and, when you call caring people idiots. you have no clue and little compassion yourself. i did get a grip. i exposed a wealthy HS using animals to "barely profit" using animals for their selfish greed.
I love how everyone assumes everything they see or hear, esspecally when they know nothing about whats going on, this is NOT animal abuse, the donkeys are trained to act like this, I would know because most of these pics are from my formal high school Jackson County High if u wanna search it, and yes I did ride, if you have never watched this event you have no idea, at half time the small kids can ride the donkeys on the floor and they are as calm as can be
What sick people. This is high school so I'm wondering when does the education start? Explains why America is going south. Expect Sarah Palin to be the next president.
these poor donkeys aren't treated much better than veal. it is disgusting to think people get enjoyment out of torturing helpless animals, and all without a shred of regret. there is a term for that: sociopath.
I just part of a protest outside of my school with PETA against this, and I agree it's 100% wrong. The donkeys are forced against their will to participate in this horrifying "game", stuffed in cramped trailers, denied exercise, denied food and water in fear that they will ruin their gym floors. I don't support this in any way shape or form.
I recently played donkey basketball, I also have rode horses, donkeys and mules throughout my life. When I signed up I asked how the donkeys were treated because being an animal lover I wanted to be sure the treatment was fair. They explain to me the rules and I agreed to play if the rules were followed. While I was playing I became aware that the donkeys actually enjoy putting the "riders" through bucks, ducks, and kicks. This fundraiser is absolutely hilariously enjoyable, for all.
you are an animal lover that is wonderful. perhaps you can further educate yourself on this topic other then believing the companies who profit and make this their business. of course they will tell you its all good for the animals. did you ask "they" how long these animals travel in confined hot transportation most of their lives? did you ask "they" if water is withheld from the animals so they will not urinate? lots to learn if you google search and also see.
I agree that it is bad to do that, but dont use my school as an example is this sort of thing!! Vicksburg has better programs than most of the schools in the area! woop-de-doo!!! i say: deal with bigger problems than an event that happens once a year and deal with bull fighting or somthing like that that happens almost every day...
dont use "your school" as an example? that comment sounds as if you are ashamed.
what makes you think this kind of event only happens once a year? because it happens once a year at "your" school?
thank you for agreeing this is bad to do. it is nice to know you have some feelings for the animals and it is not all about "you" and profiting money (several of us there that night was told by a teacher that very little was made off this so called "fund raiser".
take a look at your own videos. be proud and perhaps your ideas are a good way to raise funds for "your" school :) looks like "your school" is teaching you "better programs" .... (grinning)
first i off i am not a fan of donkey basketball but i hate ppl like you more .. degrading abusive? you care about animals more than you care about human life.. you'd pay millions to see this end but not genocide or poverty worldwide
@ltmajor0 that is nice. can "intelligent" students and "award winning band members" and teachers come up with something better then using animals to profit off of? and for the record- the very night of this "fund raiser", a teacher approached my mother and myself and other protesters stating this fund raiser barely made profit.
Animals can't really stand up for themselves.. they didn't put themselves in this position. World hunger is the human race's own fault. We've destroyed our planet and populated it so much there isn't enough to go around. Animals contributed nothing to the genocide or poverty so why should they be treated like this? maybe it should be humans being yanked around and put through this. This sport is fucking sick. And so are you sir.
Oh my god. I love all animals, espacially donkeys. But they need to be respected too. I have never heard on it down here (not American). At my school, on fundrasers we have an out of uniform day and we bring a gold coin for that. Or on halloween he have fundrasers were you bid for a pie to throw at teachers. Once someone paid $26 and they missed the teacher.
you would think there would be much less confusion and work putting such a fundraiser together using teachers to throw pies at. that is fun :) they have a choice. also i would think less costly thus your school would profit more. thank you for your comment. (this took place at a "hicktown" (please dismiss those in "hicktown" who do not take life and animals for granted).

Furthermore, the stands look virtually empty. Which is to say these animals were exploited for nothing! Did the school even manage to raise ANY funds? (Although even if they raised enough funds to cover all graduation expenses for the next four graduating classes, it is not worth the torture and cruelty inflicted on these beautiful animals.)
Yes let's teach our children that this kind of behavior and mistreatment of animals is acceptable - IT IS NOT ! This is out and out animal cruelty - where are the welfare laws - where is the ASPCA ? Charges should be brought against the school - and each individual who is responsible for this disgusting spectacle - :( Shame on everyone who allows this to continue !
Exploiting animals for amusement is as American as apple pie! Anything to make a buck, right? If educators and administrators believe it is OK to indulge in animal abuse, for "charity", what is the real lesson that is being taught to the kids? It takes a public outcry to shame those who sponsor such events and activists should make a point of contacting school officials as soon as they get wind of any such activities being proposed.
Only an ignorant fool would think this is fun to watch.
