The frist time I herd this song was on Jay Leno once I herd It I downloaded It on limewire and I have to say that as much as I love all her song's I think this Is her best one... So far...Steve D
Heard this song for the first time last night at work. As soon as I got home I looked it up. Best I have ever heard out of Sheryl Crow. I cannot stop watching the video. Can't get the song out of my head.
Abraham is the patriarch of Islam, Judaism, and Christianity.
I have never really been a big fan of her music, but this song is friggin' awesome. I have been singin' this one in my head for about a week now. Gettin' the album when I get paid. Love it.
It's amazing, i got my degree on this Saturday, i couldn' t get this melody out of my head during the graduation ceremony....hmmm it will be memorable forever
love it! i have been a fan from the beginning and this is one of the best songs she has ever done. great melody, and great words...stop! and LISTEN to the words...just listen...
I listened to it once yesterday. Today i wake up humming a song, and wonder what it is! Took me a while to remember who it was and a bit longer to find it. It's very catchy.
does anybody know if this song will be released as a single? In my humble opinion it is the best song on the great new album. By first hearing the album this song burned into my ears. so great. I wondered why love is for free etc. was released as singles because this song has instead such a hit potential! I hope you can understand my writing because english is not my mother thounge.
does anybody know what the song was called on the same jools holland show last night it as something like "cold haily rainy night" i think by the imagined village it was BRILLIANT

Yea, first time i heard this was this year, On Later With Mr Holland.(Im looking for a copy of the show by the way if sumbody can help)
Good song Performed by a good band.
I like the riff on bottle neck, and i think keyboard.
Percussion fantastic. And the chorus, (sang mainly in unison) with the harmonies as well.
A bet that was good 2 watch.
Cheers Ron.

but in the middle she messes up...
she sings every man is his own prophet
oh, every man just a man...
but the correct lyrics are:
oh every prophet just a man...
it's very funny, cause the background choir sings the correct ones

Abraham is not Abraham Lincoln :) It's a biblical reference to Abraham. Abraham was named as "the father of a lot"

When she says "Children of Abraham", who is she referring to?
edbtz201 3 years ago
i think she menas all the americans by saying they are the metaphorical children of abraham lincoln...
or she means the whole humanity and she referes to the the biblical abraham
