This exercise is amazing for conditioning the pelvic floor post birth. I also had an abcess operationa and couldn't do much for 6 weeks - this really helped - Thanks Kaisa!
This execise is not appropriate in immediate postpartum. Wait 4 to 6 weeks for involution of the uterus. Also people with uncontrolled high blood pressure, pregnant women, and people with ocular pressure issues should not do this exercise.
Hold as long as you can.
