Thanks for all the kind comments - release date is still next year we have one more day of shooting next month.

As for the Dredd feature and the costume, the comic version can be awkward if you've got huge amounts of action, I understand why they've gone a more realistic route.

I thought the cover of Empire didn't really show it that well - the photos inside looked better - the neckbrace/collar doesn't bother me at all, and he is a motorcycle cop.

Wow fantastic trailer I'm impressed most fan made trailers suck but yours blew me away! Is it finished yet or is the movie still in the making? What software did you use? Is it expensive I'm on a budget but would like to purchase computer graphics software I tried getting that free Blender 3D software but it was too difficult to learn without a manual and most stuff is out of date any others out there that are free with your kind of work or do you recommend any like Lightwave 3d 10? Or other?

@meanbeetroot Well, I'm happy to give the new one a chance - regardless of the design choices for the bike etc, and the more contemporary look I think the actual feel of the character and the script will be close to Dredd, I'd rather have that than something like the 95 movie which mostly looked the part but just became a Stallone actioner.

DNA who are making the Dredd movie asked Dan (who made the Minty costumes) along to their offices.

He went along with a guy called Darren in costume so they could see which bits they liked on the comic version.

It's a combination of practicality, and the direction they want to take their version of Dredd - they liked the helmet, which is pretty faithfull, but I guess they wanted something more realistic for the body armour/pads etc.

I just have to say to the people berating the name Minty, it's the characters name from the comic and staying true to the creator that name is going to be used, otherwise what's the point.

There's a pretty comprehensive collection now, so I wouldn't say it's that hard to get up to speed if you wanted to...

We had a day of location hire, although you're not really seeing much of it - and 2 days of green screen hire, but people were generally giving their time for nothing.

@Triz21 It's a lot harder to cast someone to do a really good "Dredd" than a relatively obscure secondary Judge character not many know which is actually in their favour because Minty doesn't come with the baggage/fan expectation Dredd as a character does and if you know anything about the Dredd comic, you'll know that there are thousands of Judges not just Dredd and they're all doing the same job. They also won't be "competing" with the new Dredd film for Dredd "time" so it makes sense to do it

It's basically like many other fan films, as long as you're not making any profit from it you're usually OK.

Since it's all self-funded paying work can get in the way, but that's the plan.

It's a work in progress and the shaky effect doesn't give away too much, Well that's my opinion and the less revealed the better for the end product, Which at the moment just looks ARSOM.

Yeah, the shaky effect is just for the trailer really - it's all very WIP and I doubt we'll show much more as it's only a short and we'd end up showing too much good stuff in the trailer. It's more just to give an impression of roughly what it will like.
