I made the peterson tool out of a tin can and thanks to you my lock was open in ten minutes at most. I had set thr combination and made a note of it but threw the note away accidentally - a while later I had completely forgoten the code and no note! Thank you very much indeed.
I would advise putting a bit of duct tape around the shaft of the homemade tool if anyone is following my example!
Thanks for sharing, I am sitting with a master lock in front of me because I forgot the pin. Will give your method a try, I am really glad you shared this. Otherwise it was a weeks of turning.
OK, so I tried to put a thin lock pick tool down there and it was too thick, I think they may have done that on purpose. HOWEVER! Paper works! Cut it to a similar shape, and you will see the paper fit into the flat spot in the same way!
This lock can be opened without the tool: rotate each dial until a tiny black spot appears on the mechanism to the left of the dial (which is inside the lock and barely visible through the crack to the left of the dial). This black dot is the hole that the bar passes through when the correct combination is entered. Next, rotate each dial down six times. The correct combination will be showing. Pull the lever down and the lock will open. This does no damage to the lock or its contents.
I made my tool from a can of sardines and it works perfectly!
