Had these men each been provided with a liter of 80 proof whisky, the chances of their maintaining combat effectiveness would doubtless have been significantly improved. In actual combat they of course would be already buzzed on amphetamine, which would also have potentiated the combat effectiveness of the ethanol-lysergic combination. Obviously not enough experimentation was done with the weaponizing potential of this promising drug.

Aside - I met a Gulf war (1991) veteran who said that Iraqi trenches were sprayed with LSD and once it dispersed, he and a crew went in and rounded the soldiers up without a fight. Must've been like herding cats from the look of these guys.

Yeahhh, great idea - give acid to a platoon posessing rifles, grenades & rocket launchers...they either had blanks or no ammo or were extremely lucky that they didn't go shooting each other for fun!
